Ok so im soon to be 27 weigh 220 and im 6'3. I have read and re-read this board, magazines, other workout articles along with talking to trainers. I know that everyones bodies are different. I workout alternating muscle groups as well as which exercises i do. Have taken otc supplements as well as others. Have taken LBAs whey protein amino acids, etc but have never gotten results im looking for. I guess in a very round about way what im trying to figure out is whats the magic formula to figuring out what my body needs. I know this board is full of knowledge and i want to tap into it as much as possible. I know alot of people will say trial and error and then time. But im looking for a solid baseline to get started. Want to know how many calories i should try to take in, grams of protein as well as carbs. And I know that i tend to under train sometimes and over train others. I know it takes years to find your own personal needs as far as all this stuff but i want to step out of the going to the gym stage and make serious strides towards building my body. I live in worc ma so if anyone on this board has a name of someone they can recommend, a book that holds the key to helping me figure this out or if you dont mind taking some time to outline what you have seen to be time and tested to work pls let me know.
