Hey bros..

quick background info about me.. I have ulcerative colitis that is mild and has yet to flare in up in awhile, thankfully. I was diagnosed also with possible gastritis. Currently I have been taking 60mg of prevacid 30mg am and 30mg pm, malax, and aloe vera juice to help combat this acid reflux. When I burp I often get the acid taste, and after some of my meals I end up puking 30-40minutes later. I don't ever puke up the food, its just bile-like-liquid. Often I feel as if something is hanging out in the back of throat..I have been coughing up a lot of phlegm as well..After I puke feel a lot better…My GI doc thought it could possibly be a gallbladder issue, so I had a HIDA scan on monday and it came back normal..I can't get in to see my doc till the 23rd of April…

Anyone experience something like this before.. or have any ideas on what to do..?

My nutrition is done by my coach who works with my ulcerative colitis (we avoid roughage , veggies, and other hard digesting foods) I am currently 260lbs 6'2" and I am intaking 6400 calories spread out through 6-7 meals. I don't ever feel really full, and I could honestly eat more..

Thanks in advance bros.

This is probably a stupid question and I mean no disrespect, do u drink alcohol?

A splish of apple cider vinegar and a splash of lemon juice help me out....along with having a host of other benefits if you wanna google it

Sounds like possibly gerd.

I'm having the same symptoms, nothing has been diagnosed. Will this really help?

Mine was terrible for several years. Even hospitalized a couple times. I tried everything conventional medicine had to offer, nothing helped. I went to a paleo diet and now it's like I never had a problem. If I eat grains or crappy food or drink alcohol it comes right back, but if my food is on point I'm great. Silver lining is that I can't get fat and out of shape because my body would shut down before it got fat.

As Phil said DWGE pm Emeric...

Ak

6400 seems like a lot of cals for anyone. Maybe try cutting those down a bit. It's good to be hungry.

My gf has had digestion issues since getting her gallbladder taken out and taking digestive enzymes has made a world of difference for her. Although the problem isn't identical to your's I would assume diet modification and adding some digestive enzymes like "digest All" could help you down the line.

Thank you all for the input! I will definitely give the apple cider vinegar a shot and see how that helps. I messaged Emeric about it, and now I am just waiting on a response from him. Thanks again :)

Apple cider vinegar dose help. Another thing that gives me instant relief is Rantidine (ZANTAC)

He's already on a proton pump inhibitor which much better for treating acid reflux.

OP, if your going to continue to knock back those kind of calories, you may want to ask your doctor what he thinks about putting you on a prokinetic drug, such as Reglan. It promotes GI motility/peristalsis and helps you empty out faster.

I just quickly googled prokinetic and it made me chuckle…

"They are used to relieve gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal discomfort, bloating, constipation, heart burn, nausea, and vomiting. They are used to treat a number of gastrointestinal disorders, including irritable bowel syndrome, gastritis, acid reflux disease,[1] gastroparesis, and functional dyspepsia."

I have heart burn, vomiting, IBS, and diagnosed with possible gastritis. I'll have to call my doc tomorrow and see what he has to say..although they often don't take people serious when individuals do their own research (from my experiences anyways)

I had very similar stymptoms. I spent 3 months in and out of doctors, hospitals, and specialists. I'm not entirely sure they've figured it out...but it's def gotten better. I'm on a prescription acid inhibitor, dexilant, and throw in a Prilosec on top of it. They wanted me to switch to a Mediterranean diet, but that wasn't happening, as this issue had already caused me to lose 30 lbs in just a few months of not wanting to eat. They ended up diagnosing me with GERDS (gastric esophageal reflux disease), as well as gastritis, esophagitis, and a hiatal hernia. All pretty much a result of the untreated gerds I guess. But, they've prescribed me the pills, and I'm down from vomiting daily to maybe 2-3 times per week. But I'm def not "happy" with their diagnosis or I guess their treatment this far. I mean, I live with kind of a feeling in my throat...and it's like my throat blocks food from going down it. And when I get to working out hard enough, especially legs or sometimes back...I'm so quick to puke. Not sure I provided any sort of a helpful response, as I havnt found what I'm satisfied as being a solution to the issue! But this is as far as a colonoscopy/endoscopy and countless trips to mayo digestive specialist got me.

I ended up dropping 30lbs until I was diagnosed with UC..definitely feel ya there. I did think about a possible hiatal hernia, but just like with gerds, they would have found that in the original endoscopy (hopefully anyways). I was thinking it could be the gastritis causing the acid reflux, but I have to wait till the 23rd of April to be able to get any sort of prescriptions to try and resolve it :(

I think several of you need to visit a doctor of integrated medicine. They could do wonders for you compared to everyday medical doctors. Pm me if you have any questions.

I'm always amazed by how many different GI issues are solved with glutamine powder (not glutamine peptides).

Buy a couple hundred grams for like 10 bucks and take 20g first thing in the morning... Worth a shot.
