Digestive problems?

i swear it seems like i go from one problem right into another... i was taking antibiotics for bronchits for a week and starting last thursday i started gettig bad stomach cramps and diarrhea, now it's like soon as i eat something or drink alot of water or anything i get cramps and have to shit right away.. could this have come from taking the erythromycin or do you think its from something else?

this is definately from the antibiotics. you need to get on some probiotics like acidophillus. yogurt has lots of good bacteria also

ok i'll pick up some acidophilus today, i was planning to take it while i was on the mycin but forgot all about until i was 3 days into them and just went ahead and finished them without it. i started having the stomach problems thur and was done with the anitbiotics friday so i thought it would go away after i stopped them but it hasn't so far.... do you think the acidophilus will help clear up the diarhea?

the diahrea should go away soon on its own. the antibiotic killed all the bad bacteria in your body, but it also killed all the good bacteria in your intestines. the acidophillus will help build them back up and get rid of the digestive problems

it sure did.... i've been off now since saturday and i'm still having bad cramping, bloating, and the shit almost everytime i eat....
it really sucks, especially by being on a pre comp diet

do you have a certain dosage you take, or do you just use the recomended amount?

about 5 years ago i had a real bad case of gastroenteritis and was in the hospital for a week, when i got out i had really bad gas cramping and diarrheaa and someone recommended Ginger Root before meals, as i remember it worked pretty well for that. do you think that it would be of any benefit for something like this?

I remember docs when I was a kid not recommending erythro for kids because it would dystend their stomachs if they were on it for more than a week.

Yeah, maybe I could use that as my excuse....yeah, that's the ticket.

antibiotics have been known to cause this,,,,they ALWAYS cause me diarrhea.

If this diarrhea is severe or doesn't go away, go back to the Dr. The bad thing about antibiotics is that they can kill off good bacteria in the GI tract and some other bacteria moves in called C Diff. Another antibiotic (metronidazole) takes care of it right away. But no alcohol while on MTN!
