Dihexa and cognition function (for son with Down Syndrome)

Guys, I am considering Dihexa for my sons cognitive function ( since he has Down Syndrome)-

Anyone here have any experience with it, and if so, would you share?

Thank you

Looks great on paper.

I’ve read solid reviews on Reddit too.

It didn’t do jack for me though.

Zero.

You know the deal with many of these research compounds though …

It’s a crap shoot if the stuff purchased is even real. lol.

GL to your son - I hope you find some good stuff and it helps him!

based on my understanding, it only really works in people with brain damage or neuro-degenerative diseases

so if you have neither, it will essentially be like taking an antibiotic for a disease or infection that you do not have

Spot on. I’m using it currently while on TRT in my health phase as my recall has been slightly lowered.

The first few days I had some slight improvement and was like a very mild low dose of adderall without the stimulant effect.

But that faded after the first few days and can’t really say it’s doing much now. I haven’t moved up dosage or anything, but my guess is that if I did it would be a small, short lived boost.

I like to remind people that if these peptides were so potent that big pharma would own a patent and have them on fast track for release, much like GLP’s.

If it helps anyone to craft their answer, Down Syndrome’s effects on the brain are very similar to Alzheimer’s- so anything anyone wants to share from that angle, feel free. And thank you all.

I'm thinking of trying it.

One thing to keep in mind that it has a half-life of 8-12 days and need only be dosed 1-2x a week from the literature I have read. This mean dose sparingly and for a lont time, perhaps months before effects are tangible.
People who have been taking it everyday and give up on it after a month are not using it optimally IMHO.

Dihexa activates the HGF/c-Met pathway. This pathway regulates tissue growth and repair, but also tumor growth and metastasis.

People with Down syndrome already have altered immune health and cell growth regulation. You could add a higher risk for leukemia.

It’s gotten some attention because of its use in Alzheimer’s which shares some characteristics with Down syndrome. Those studies were also done in rodents.

From an objective “Down syndrome” stance I would say there’s not enough data to support the risk of usage.

That is just my perspective and opinion based on the data and research we have.

Cripes - maybe with DIHEXA I'd stop making so many typos 🥴
