I ve heard dave Palumbo say eggwhites decrease B vitamin absorption.

Ive heard other rumors as well. Anyways know what the facts are, sir and

ma'am?

From what I have read raw egg whites contain the protein avidin, which may block absorption of biotin, a B-vitamin. Haven't read anything of cooked egg whites causing this issue.

I drink a lot of pasteurized egg whites sometimes 50-100 grams a day . back in contest prep was doing like 150-200 grams a day

so cooked is without problems?

It's unfortunate that raw uncooked eggwhites are only 50% bioavailable. So you can only count half the protein grams.

Not true, raw egg whites are just difficult to digest in large quanities, you get used to it just like other proteins, this is similar to the "30g of protein per meal" myth.

So my understanding is, raw egg whites are part of a huge myth: "binding to biotin." The truth is, eggs have biotin in them, but if you don't cook them, the biotin isn't bioavailable, no other effects.

Cooked OK , or have the raw white and the raw yolk together.

The yolk contains the biotin. You would have to eat 24 raw egg whites a day to inhibit biotin.

I measure out the pasteurized egg whites out of the carton.
