Do hair loss products effect your results?

For guys that have taking ,or currently take prescription hair loss products like finasteride , durasteride , or both and did it effect your results gains wise at all ? Positively ? negatively ? or do you notice no difference at all ?

I felt I looked slightly less ‘hard’ which to me makes sense if it’s impacting DHT levels in the body. That was just my own personal experience so take that for what it is worth. I stay 6-10% BF year round so I usually can notice small changes easily/quickly.

finastride and durasteride are both known to be pretty harsh substances that can come with some sides, fatigue being a big one.
There’s a thread somewhere on here where guys found success with low dose durasteride once or twice a week. Can’t recall the exact protocol, but seemed like it was working for many without the sides.

Dutasteride 0.5 mg twice per week = Finasteride 5 mg daily w/ Less Side effects

For those asking about dutasteride or those saying they can't use finasteride even at low dosages; Dutasteride at a dosage of 0.5 mg twice per week will generally lower DHT by 70%, the same as 5 mg finasteride. In fact, it may be better since finasteride has a spread of 50-90% DHT reduction...

Nope, you need to view dutasteride/finasteride how we view arimidex/aromasin, a therapeutic dosage vs taking too much will give much different side effect profile.



You take arimidex/aromasin to prevent gynecomastia/high E2 symptoms. You take dutasteride/finasteride to prevent hair loss/BPH/high DHT symptoms. Too much arimidex/dutasteride will have side effects.



The commonly prescribed dosage of duta/fina is very very high and overkill. It's like taking 1 mg adex every single day for TRT.

Yep.. the poison is in the dose.. I have a good friend who was prescribed duta for hairloss.. I told him I wanted no part of that compound as it seems to give many permanent issues, sexual, etc.. he was pretty leery of it. But cut the dosage prescribed in half.. 6 months later no issues.. hair is coming back for him.. says he has no sexual sides.. but the much smaller dose works for him.

Oh I agree.. I think just about any med can be used effectively even in smaller than recommended doses.. we seem to hold to this " minimum effective dose".. but if there is sides for Pete sake don't throw it out.. lower the dose and see what happens
