do high GI carbs digest slower if paired with fat and protein?

because if so that would make it ok to eat white rice instead of brown rice....and regular pasta instead of whole wheat.....

the reason i bring this up is because for some reason i have a much harder time getting in all the carbs i need if i am eating whole wheat vs. normal pasta or plain white rice.

this is in regards to a bulking diet.
 
Adding fat's to any meal will slow digestion. However, adding fats with carb meals can greatly increase storage of fat if calories in > calories out. Carbs spike insulin (storage factor) thus increasing fat stores.

and what about protein.....eating protein would slow the digestion as well.....im not saying eat a ton of fat....im just asking if eating fat and protein with the high gi carbs will lower the insulin response.....

the gi scale is assuming youre eating the carbs BY THEMSELVES.....with not added protein or fat.

your correct, adding protein/fats will lower the GI content as that is rated by the consumption of that single food. at times referring to the GI load is more appropriate. The best way to see the affects is to self check yourself with a glucometer.
