Of course older guys respond less to “normal” doses of gear because they begin losing type-2 muscle fibers. However, the biggest factor I believe that limits growth in most people who are age 50 and over is their joints and connective tissues! As their bodies age, the tendons and cartilage cannot handle as much training stress in the form of high intensity, heavy weights, and volume. Arthritis and bone spurs wreak havoc on older weaker tendons and worn cartilage. Therefore, preventing injuries is the #1 key to gaining or maintaining muscle at age 50, not taking more hormones! Taking more hormones in the presence of having less muscle tissue to work with means your body won’t be able to utilize the additional hormones properly and they’ll just give you more unwanted side effects. I hope this helps!Do older guys respond less to "normal" doses of gear?
Did some gear when i was younger and it seemed like i responded very well to a minimal amount but now that i am older i wanted to try it again and i am finding that my body is much less responsive unless i push up doses.
Now that i type that out it makes sense to me that this is true but would love to hear from other 50+ guys out there.
