Do you deadlift?

Love em did deads this past Tues, bodybuilding is my thing.
 
Im afraid to do them anymore. When I was 35 we had a stupid little competition in the gym one day. I was going off on the guys that had to use wraps. So we were lifting from a rack with no wraps. I got a little froggy. I did pull 735 out of the rack bare handed..........but got a nice little umbilical hernia out of the deal. Ive never gotten it sewed because the doc said its not terrible yet.
 
Love deads. Have I hurt myself on them? Hell yes. Do I still do them? Hell yes. If I quit doing exercises just because I got injured on them I would be having some short workouts. I try to be smarter on deads. I go lighter. Keep better form.

Love deadlifts though I don't believe they are the be all and end all some make them out to be ....they are not as important to back as squats are to quads....

I love doing them against band resistance....

When i do deadlifts Im mainly aiming to focus on my back, so I do rack deadlifts at halfway between knee and ankles. Slow with alot of control. Dont go super heavy but works really well
 
i was doing deadlift one day and didn't have my raps, so i borrowed a pair from the front desk, they were old and worn, needless to say one ripped in the middle of my set, pull me down to one side, i was on a stand at the time and the bar fell on my foot and rolled off...i count myself lucky a didn't get hurt any worst and i still wonder why i needed to pull so much weight.
 
I do em every other week, no belt, from the floor, pyramid up to 495 and am usually gas'd that i dont go much higher.. i dont know my max.. most ive pulled is 535 after a work out screwing around with my then workout partner it came up pretty easy.
 
I do hang cleans and then do DLs.

All warmed up. At 49 I don't push too hard on the compound stuff, but for overall strength, I hope to be doing the big lifts till the end. I use a belt - it reminds me to pay attention to my back more than for support and I use straps because I have a wife and a GF so my grip strength isn't as good as the rest of you guys.

I love dead lift, it's my main mass builder or mass preserver when dieting

I do not deadlift anymore.
I love it as an exercise but It doesnt do much good after a certin point to some builds for bodybuilding purpose.

I still deadlift. Anything over 225 I use a belt. Anything under I typically don't. I'm more powerlifter than bodybuilder.
 
I no longer deadlift because i dont feel that i benefit a whole lot from them

I still do freeweight squats though


Sometimes ill go hard on deadlifts but tbh i feel like they set me back a lot in terms of cns and recovery
