I have a friend who refuses to do any AAS but he likes to make himself throw up after big meals. I give him endless shit for it but he's actually getting great results and won't stop. Anytime I try to get him to stop he tells me I have no right to judge because I've used gear.

What do you guys think?

Actually binge and purge isn't really an accurate description, he doesn't binge eat he just makes himself throw up anytime he eats a large meal.

This is a mental illness. NOT NORMAL, NOT HEALTHY.

Tell him that he should seek help. What starts out as a "strategy" to improve body composition can turn into a psychological dependence.

I know it may sound like a joke - a guy binging and purging - but I have suffered from bulimia for years. Only a small percentage of men suffer from bulimia. If I'm honest with myself it is a direct result of body dystrophia. Now after all these years I suffer from barrett's esophagus. It is a pre cancerous state in your esophagus that is caused by excessive acid. I have to get a scope every 6 months to monitor it. So I would tell your friend to look it up and let him decide if it is worth getting rid of those "unwanted calories ".

Are you encouraging him to do AAS? It sounds like it. The dude is sick and needs help, not drugs to get big.

No not at all, what I'm saying is he's using my use of AAS to justify what he's doing.

Ahh, got it. They are 2 totally different issues. Maybe you can rally some people around him to get help.

I was going to say that. I knew a girl who did it and the acid ate her teeth up. So not healthy

My now deceased ex-wife threw up after every meal. It's an illness that she could not recover from. R.I.P.

Nothing wrong with binging here and there, hell, I do it myself. But the vomiting part, well, like a few people said, that's a sign of an eating disorder. Or at least on the path to one.

He's bulimic bro. That's what his diagnoses is. I feel bad for him.. He's going to damage his esophagus , rotten teeth.. Ect.

Judging you for your drug use is a low blow when you're trying to help him

I'm happy you guys feel the same way i do about it and I know I'm doing the right thing thank you.

I'm going to go to our circle of friends and tell them about it so they can help, I don't want to go to his family but I will if I have to and will use that as leverage to get him to see what he's doing. At this point I don't care if he ousts me for AAS, he's my friend I don't want him to fuck his life up.

a very good friend of mine used to do it after his cheat meal which was about once every couple months....I never seen a human being that could go zero carb as long as he would but frosted flakes were his weakness and he was one of those guys that despised weakness in any form and would be so pissed at himself for eating a big bowl of frosted flakes he would purge it up

This is the start of an eating disorder or he is already active in one. My gf makes her entire living off of this stuff. It is very serious and it is becoming way more prevalent in men then it once was.

He can do serious long term damage to his body eternally. Its usually much more deeper then he wants to look a certain way. There are deeper core issues that trigger behavior like that, (control, fear, power, release). You need to have him identify what it is that is driving him and then seek the help of a professional. Someone who purges their food, It represents a purging of self hatred, self loathing and denial of self and life. Good luck.
