When feeling under the weather/ill?

I always find it hard to take time off even though it is probably better to just rest lol.
 
if i just "feel under the weather" then yes, i train at the gym
If i have a minor cold (runny nose, sore throat, headeache) i train at home but cut volume by half. Also, i try to do excersises that i can do safely in the lower rep range.
If i have a fever i stay home
 
I typically do, I'll just sleep more. May change diet l, same total calories but eat something more digestible that doesn't require cooking so I have more time to rest/sleep.
 
Your body is telling you it needs rest. Plus I don’t wanna get anyone else sick. Guy came in a couple of months ago obviously very sick, told the owner and he made him leave for that reason.
 
Same, I rest I probably won’t get a good workout in anyway and I don’t want to spread what I have to anyone else. If you’re not feeling good rest is the best!
 
I still train as often half Way through I feel better. If I’m proper sick then I don’t
 
If it’s something like congestion, little cold, I’ve always believed in “sweating it out”

But anything worse like flu, etc I think it’s best to just rest and get better.
 
Depends. Just a sinus infection? I like getting some blood moving and getting my HR up….then hacking and shooting all that gunk and shit out of my nasal cavities. Usually feel much better for 4-5 hours after.

Now like something I’m running a high temp? Naa usually just naps.
 
Peak sickness - nope, I rest.

Otherwise I might reduce load a bit but getting active and doing some work makes me feel better and gets things moving so I'm fine with that.
 
I will say, if truly sick which I haven't been in a while, no point in weights if you can't be intense. In that case I'd lower calories to be an off day but get a good cardio session in. IMO nothing feels worse than laying around the house when sick. Get out, get some fresh air, movement, blood flowing. Hiking or elliptical paired with sleep + vit c.
 
If it's in your lungs. Stay home. If it's in your head, it's in your head
 
If i am well enough to go to work i am well enough to go to the gym. And i think i mssed 3 days of work in my life from being to sick. And i retired a few years ago. So that 3 days will probably stand.
 
Yeah I used to still train when under the weather but now I just take the rest. At most I’ll go for a long walk or something of the sort.
 
If your sick, take off.. no need to compromise the immune system any further.
