Do you keep cardio in while in gaining phases or only leave cardio when shredding down and dieting?
 
Yes but I won’t do anything past a 20 minute medium cruise on the recumbent bike

I prefer going for a 30 minute medium paced walk outside to keep lean during a gainer plus keep the metabolism firing
 
10 minutes stairmaster HIIT after every session other than legs- so 4x per week.

10,000+ steps per day

I’m in pretty damn good CV shape for a SHW, and it’s quite nice tbh. Makes high rep training for legs and back a lot more effective when you’re not gassing out before your muscles fail.

Nothing but positives for insulin sensitivity and body comp. Just takes some more time and effort.
 
Yes but it’s limited. You really should do some form of cardio year round. Too many problems can arise when cardio is taken out of the equation.
 
I have kept cardio in year-round since August 2024 and it makes a world of difference. You don't have to love it, just accept it as non-negotiable. Some days it goes fast, some days it sucks; either way - it is getting done.
 
10k steps a day always. How i get them...mall...treadmill...hike...is irrelevant to me.
 
45 min 5-6 days fasted a week year round. Part of the morning routine at this point. I enjoy it also helps keep blood markers in check
 
circa 2006-2010 when competing, no. I would change that.
 
20 minutes zone 2 fasted cardio every single day here. Every one of my health markers improved after adopting this 2 years ago. In contest prep I upped it to 30, if it matters.

It was super fun combined with SLU, yohimbine, caffeine and clen those prep mornings, let me tell you! I could smell colors, basically… 😂

That’s me. Fasted cardio on the bike, but always take a 2.5 mile walk- walk can be used to meditate, reset dopamine etc. With that walk plus everyday life walking, I usually get 14k-16k steps daily.

I actually have done it even when it’s really cold here(it sucks!) but it rarely drops into the 20s or teens here even on the coldest winter days.

On those days I wear layers I can peel off as I go.
 
No don't do much cardio except fucking, hiking, and swimming. Need to really get on it tho for my health sake. Cardio is def better than no cardio. Ah I'll prob wait for after the growth phase 😂
 
I do just for cardiovascular health.
