So I am at a lost and figured some of you might have an idea.
After 5 years of searching my wife was diagnosed with a prolactoma. Prolactin producing tumor on the pituitary.
And is on Caber to keep prolactin at Bay. Doctors are telling her the medicine and/or high prolactin has no side effects. I call bullshit.

Knowing lots of you get blood work on the reg and have used Caber let's here things you have experience or been told by your docs about such things.

I know this in not Bodybuilding but I know lots of people (including myself) have experience high prolactin and used dopamine agonist.

Higher doses have been shown to cause heart problems. I believe those are doses used in Parkinson’s which are about 10 fold of that from bodybuilding but not sure about her dosing.

The other big problem is that it is a dopamine agonist. When you stay on it for too long it will suppress natural dopamine and when you eventually go off of it you can suffer from dopamine agonist withdrawal syndrome which is pretty serious. All dopamine agonists and antagonists can cause this. I’m not really sure what they can give her to lower prolactin that won’t cause this affect on her dopamine system.

Mucuna Pruriens with B6 have been shown to lower prolactin but I’m not sure if it would be enough for her issue. I would try as many natural methods you can first to see if they can get it under control.

Hormones that decrease prolactin:
Dopamine
DHEA
Melatonin

Supplements that decrease prolactin:
Mucuna (dopaminergic)
Ginseng
Uridine + Glutamine
Ginko Balboa

Pretty sure that's not what doctors have told her. Generally, you don't want to give your patients an exhaustive list of a drug's potential side effects since almost everyone is a bit of a hypochondriac.

Dosages required to treat Hyperprolactinemia are comparably low, so side effects also tend to me limited. There is a number of contraindications for drugs like Cabergoline, which I'm sure your doctors have checked.

Keep taking the drug as per doctors orders, and report anything unusual in terms of side effects. Do not fall for the "natural=good, unnatural=bad" fallacy.

I know Mucuna (l-dopa), tworks. My prolactin was high at 38 and within two weeks of taking Velvet bean or mucuna pruriens (99% l-dopa) mine went down to 5

I like the mucuna as well but don't take it along with any similar medications, even wellbutrin. It made me feel like I was dying, I actually went to the ER. Either was fine on its own. Aren't they planning on removing the tumor?

Many if not most guys with a basic understanding of AAS will know more than many many TRT drs.

My dr admits that what he knows about TRT has been in the field.

ABSOLUTELY there are many on this forum who know FAR more about hormones than most any doctor. I'm still learning, but can absolutely tell you I already know more than any general practice or family medicine doctor would.

I know someone on trt gel for a few years now and switched to injections a few weeks ago and from what he tells me his doctor knows very little. You can learn a lot from these forums after all we are the ones using it. If I ever get on trt I’m going with a doctor who looks like he works out and knows something.

I'm pretty sure it is because I was there when the doctor told her this. So we went to a specialist. Who confirmed her side effects from the medication.
The first doctor didn't even think there were doctors that specializes in this.

She is on one medication. And isn't looking for a new medicine.
I'm just looking for people's experience with high prolactin and their experience with use of Caber.
Just trying to get a better understanding of what people experience.

Pituitary tumors are so common that any endo should have lots of experience with them, up to 25% of people have them.

I know hormones better than Dr. Dre, Dr. Detroit, and Dr. Johnny Fever.
Dr. Pepper has me beat though. 😀

A friend of mine has a pituitary tumor like that and has been on caber for years! They just check his liver enzymes on occasion and they are always fine. Other wise no side effects he has talked about.

No side effects until he stops the cabergoline.Probably something he’ll have to stay on forever to avoid severe dopamine withdrawal syndrome.

see, and this is the crux. primarys dont know, gp's dont know about endocrine problems to the depth endos do. which is why u get referred to a specialist.
now, if it was an endo telling her this..get another endo!
i was supposed to get another mri when the first one came back on my pituitary problem. but i had no symptoms with my elevated prolactin so i didnt go back. plus i lost my insurance at the time.

Maybe hormones are better than doctors in some way, especially when considering the high cost of medical treatment in America. Well, I think using it to replace doctor will on the premise that you have a good command of hormone knowledge.
