Doctor say i will have a heart attack.

I got my cholesterol checked, its higher than normal.

My dad at 38 years old got a hearth attack.Got family history of High Cholesterol. He is also Diabetic type 1.

He said if i dont go on a cholesterol free diet(Vegan Diet-High and fruits and vegetables), im facing high chance of having a heart attack.

He said i have 2 choice:

1.Take statins.

2.Go on a cholesterol-Free diet, High in Fruits and vegetables. Low meat and Low dairy intake.

He did recommend changing the diet more than taking statins.

What do you guys think?

What were your test results? I would try to modify diet before getting on statins .

Research as well.
Examine.com
Niacin, fish oil, psyllium husk
Are the three supps I'm experimenting with to try to lower cholesterol. I will never go on statins. It only works on 1% of patients w/ too many sides.
Good luck

what are your blood pressure, CRP, fasted glucose, and hematocrit numbers?

if your doctor told you that you're going to have a heart attack based solely on your cholesterol numbers, then he is dumb as fuck.

idk about more fruit, but more vegetables is rarely a bad idea

Blood pressure is great.
Fasted glucose, my blood sugar levels are medium.

He said, That Eating too much meat and dairy raised cholesterol levels.

A vegan diet High in fruits and vegetables will lower cholesterol levels, while being more healthy than a heavy meat diet.

my brother is currently doing a vegan diet. he feels like absolute shit.

but that's beside the point.

cholesterol numbers are virtually meaningless...

well, perhaps not meaningless, but not NEARLY as important as other factors.

-clean up your diet (you do NOT need to get rid of quality meat)
-30 minutes of cardio a day
-citrus bergamot
-fish oil
-evening primrose oil
-make sure that your blood pressure stays good
-I would seriously consider cutting carbs significantly..i would keep like 50g carbs from brown rice pre-workout tbh... maybe 50g after as well
-I would cut out dairy
-eat plenty of fiber
-vitamin k2

Add quality krill oil to your arsenal as well.

Statins and clean up your diet!

How are we talking?

What are your numbers? HDL? LDL? Total? Triglycerides? Have you done further testing to go even more in depth? Size etc?

For a physician to recommend a vegan diet things must be extreme

this is where I would have bust up laughing at his bitch ass

I've had doctors come in and tell me I need to go vegan. I immediately told them "I'd like to see a new doctor". Not that I don't like doctors, but cmon.

Is his thread real?

The only thing that worries me about everything you've posted up here is that your dad had a heart attack at 38. If there are genetic issues that have also been confirmed by your doctor through thorough testing, your cholesterol parameters are just noise.

Thing is the doctor Didnt push me to Take Statins.

He told me he prefer me to go on a Vegan diet High in fruits, Vegetables.

I know they are sponsor by Pharmaceutical companies to give you medications.

But he didnt push the statins.

He's at least reasonable in that regard. The sides that can be brought on by statin drugs can be fuckin horrendous.

Veganism can fuck off. What you need is cardio, omega 3s, cut out fatty cuts of beef and pork from your diet. Your LDL'll buff out.

What are the actual numbers? I can sway mine sooo easily. They can vary by almost a total of 100 from bloodwork to bloodwork lol, honestly to me cholestrol numbers are the biggest joke for this reason.

He's got some knowledge but is a little misinformed, this is common among medical professionals who have no nutrition / biochemistry background.

Yes- increasing your fruit and veg intake has a host of health benefits. No- eating good quality meat and dairy is not going to cause you to have a heart attack. Your dietary cholesterol has little impact on your body's synthesis of endogenous lipoproteins.

My advise , if you know heart disease runs in your family just look for modifying factors that you can address. Add in some extra cardio, make it a point to eat more leafy greens and dark fruits. Try not to use orals excessively. Keep your sugar intake low. sleep the appropriate length of time and make sure you don't have apnea, etc etc.
