Just wondering if a 30 cal pack of gum is some thing you would concern your self with? Most SF gum has 1-2 carbs and 0g sugar. Personally I think if I have a nice deficit its all acceptable on a low carb diet.
 
I think if youre not chewing it all day then youre fine. I never chewed gum when i dieted, but thats because chewing gum makes me hungry as a mofo!
 
I employ the 5 second rule in this case...

ALWAYS WONDERED SAME THING. DONT KNOW WHY BUT ADDICTED TO IT NOW AND CANT TRAIN WITHOUT BUBBLE GUM AND CAN THAT LITTLE SUGAR AFFECT YOUR DIET?
 
I find when I am dieting it makes me more hungry.:mad:

Don't think chewing sugar free gum would effect your gains or fat loss.
 
Last year, I dropped it during the last couple of weeks of contest prep.

This year I kept it in all the way to the day of the show and was even asked to spit it out right before stepping on stage for prejuding (I forgot I had it) ;)

As long as sugarfree, pretty sure you'll be find.

*as a side not, I chew a lot of gum in the offseason. So when it came to contest prep I didnt drastically increase or decrease my intake.

What I'm saying is, dont start chewing a whole bunch now! :D
 
If there's three grams of carbs in gum....would that not imply that the three grams of carbs is in the gum itself? As in, you would have to swallow the gum to ingest those three grams of carbs....

Just a thought.

I only employ gum pre and post-workout, when I can get away with it.

I just don't want to over do it, I'm guilty of buying those large 3 packs and chewing all 3 in a single night. Just seems like my next cardio session is goign to be wasted trying to burn off the sugar alcohol, or even my sleep session I will burn less calories off my body due to it.

That’s what I thought when I cut it out in my first show. If you’re shredded, you’re shredded…no 2, 3, or even 4 packs of gum could hurt that!

The only thing you might want to think about is if your body is sensitive to the sugar alcohols. In which case, you might hold water…cannot confirm this but seems like a viable possibility.

*like I said in my previous post, just don’t over do it, or do anything sudden and the gum (sugar free) wont impact anything substantial
 
man, fuck all that shit, if I cant even chew a peace of gum then I'd just give the shit up altogether and go take up golf/ I say chew the damn gum, dieting is hard enough even with it
 
I recall reading that you burn about 5 cals a min chewing gum, i'll go track down that info, so I mean, you are negating the caloric intake eventually
 
My five month old child likes chomping on things, chew on a pieice of rubber if you feel guilty. Hey phil, what do you think of that.
