Does anybody else do high rep squats?

I often do high rep squats for legs. I do 50 reps the first set, 20 the second and 20 the third set. Then some legs curls and that's it. My legs really started to grow when I began doing high reps. Anybody else have good results with high reps for legs?
 
50 reps, 20 reps, then 20 reps....I am going to throw up just thinking about it. Man you have some endurance!! I squat tomorrow, I will have to try something like that, you have my interest.
 
Forget my legs, my heart would explode. There is no way my cardio would hold up to 50, 20,20......

Start out with just one set of 50 reps. You don't have to use a lot of weight, I only use 135.
 
yes high rep squats make my legs grow much better than lower rep. i dont go above 20's on squats though and 30's on leg press.
 
I have some knee problems and am just getting back to squatting so I have to do all high rep stuff for now.....I can leg press with little problem and do between 30-50 reps per set...
 
When my IT bands aren't acting up (wahhhh) ive been going a little heavier and lower rep lately, but I think its about time i went back to high reps as that is what worked well for me last year.
 
Thats all I do is high reps for legs.....
 
I like to train legs with higher reps 15-20. For some interesting reading check out "SUPER SQUATS BY RANDALL STROSSEN"
there's not very much info on the net on Randall Strossen system, maybe because he sells the book, anyway I think I have to wait at leas one year to squat again :(
 
I think this is a great post 'cause it gets people thinking about squat variations. I know for myself that the same rep range all the time simply means no improvement. It needs to be taken to both extremes.
 
I might have to give this a shot because for what I'm doing I don't feel my legs look the way they should. After a few warm ups I do a type of DC for squats 405x10 rest pause

I've always had excellent form,control and went below parallel. I have decent sized legs but feel they should be better,maybe I'll try high rep.

I almost always train legs with high reps. JJ Marsh wrote my training for over a year and what he had me doing for legs worked so good I rarely stray from it. He always said "It's not heavy weight or high reps, it's BOTH." I do a ton of high rep rest pause and the results speak for themselves.
 
cycles for leg work

I've been doing a week of heavy, low rep (4-6 reps) work, followed by a week of moderate reps (10-12) and then a week of higher reps (15-20)
I try to keep the poundages going up each time, so I'm increasing reps or load without sacrificing form or adding rest. I thought the higher rep weeks were going to be "easier" because the poundage was lighter.
HA!!!, the higher rep weeks on legs are kicking my ass! leg presses, squats, extensions all are going steadily upwards and I feel like I've got a new, secret weapon. ;)

Well I just got done with my leg workout. I tell you what I thought my heart was going to burst out of my chest. And I learned my endurance is poor.

My squat work sets ended up being 225 for 25 reps, 250 for 20 reps, and 275 for 15 reps.
Then moved onto leg press for 2 sets of 50 reps.
Leg extensions 2 sets of 30 reps
stiff leg deadlifts for 2 sets of 25 reps.

Next week I will try for the 50 reps with a weight and take it from there. I can tell you one thing, my legs are already sore. This might be just what I need to bring my legs up.
 
Cuttin up for show so i just got done with 5 sets of 20 with 225# Can't go heavy while I'm carb. depleted too much risk of injury. Even so with lower back issue (bulged L-4/L-5 and L5/S1) I choose/can't go heavy anymore anyway. Reps have blown me up like no lower reps ever have, huge pumps!!
anyway i finish with hacks 3 plates for sets of 20 as well then extensions all high rep. Works for me.
 
I do 2-3 sets of 20 last on leg day so I don't have to use alot a weight, which would be to much for my back.
