It's not gonna end to well for this dog, I can just see it now. So sad....Was it her fault? Was it the shelters fault for not finding out a little more about the dogs behavior first?

My dogs would not attack her but I would never put my dog in that particular sitaution. Denver is the worst for Pit bulls, bulldogs, they kill 300 dogs a yr. This dog is dead! I put it on the men not the dog.

You're right Boom. Sad for everyone and the dog. All lose. The shelter people and the news person made mistakes, but they were fighting the good fight, trying help homeless pets, and the dog is probably gone now. Lots of unhappiness. Maybe someone stepped in to save the dog? There's always someone who wants to save someone/something "bad".

TC, I feel the shelter rushed this dog a little too fast out into the public. But you are correct no one wins here. Especially when they were just trying to save another dogs life from being cut short.


This dog looked like a beast. (in a good sense) 85 pound argentinian mastiff. never heard of them before. But he looked like a champ for sure.

Ok, after weeding through a bunch of news videos, I now have to come back and report, THE DOG WAS NOT BEING PUT UP FOR ADOPTION ON THE SHOW.... thats what I looked like in the begining. It was nothing more then a feel good programming for the tv studio. The two gentlemen on the stage are 1- the firefighter who rescued the dog from the icey river and 2- the owner of the dog who is holding his leash while sitting with his dog on stage.

"Basically, she did everything wrong," Ron Berman, a canine behavior specialist, told NBC. "She went up to a dog she didn't know--who didn't know her--and she either tried to kiss him or hug him or put her face too close to his face. He felt threatened and bit her."

Very unfortunate, but the dog was obviously stressed out in a new environment surrounded by a bunch of strangers. He was licking his lips constantly while she was petting him around the mouth and face. This is NOT a sign of friendliness. It was a loud signal that the dog was nervous.

I just wonder if this would have been national news had the dog been a golden retriever or a cuddly little Pomeranian?? I kinda doubt it.

I watched the actual video footage, and the lady was right up in the dog's face. Never a good idea for any dog, regardless of size. Since the dog wasn't current on shots, he's being held in quarantine for 10 days until they determine he doesn't have rabies. It's a sad situation, and I really hope they don't put the dog down. Srsly, no one likes people in their face that close - even animals!

Not sure about the full extent of the injuries, but it could not have been too bad. Although the Argentinian Dogo makes a pitbull look like an anemic rat terrier, this was not a viscious attack. It was a very brief defensive snap.. just a single snap. Definitely enough to cause surface damage though.

The dog gsve several signs that he was uncomfortable.she's a fucking moron for putting her face in a dogs,she dosent know.dogs can't push you away when they are uncomfortable,they can only snap at you,and they will usually give you signsbefore they do.she's an idiot,and the owner should have told her to back up.plus he had his hand around the dogs coller,witch will put the dog on guard as it is.I feel bad for the dog,probably gona be put down,just for being owned by an idiot,and biteing some other idiots face.

She definitely should not have been in the dogs face like that. She was acting like it was a newborn puppy or something. Hope they let the dog live. He just nipped at her , because he felt threatened.
