dog is really sick ... I feel so bad

since a few months my dog has lost weight ... and appetite too

I wet to veterinary, he did blood test and everything and dind't see shit ... he gave him a medicine cause he thought it was a seldom syndrome of lack of cortisone ...
I had to do him daily's injections .. but nothing came back and my dog had lost 30 lbs (this is a rottweiler he was weighing 120-130 at his biggest)

I went several times, did blood test and everything and today we made an echographia (?) and we saw that he has a cancer of the liver, prostate(?) and another intestinal organ

the veterinary told me he has not more than 3 months to live
he purposed me to do the last injection today if I want .. I said yes first ... and then no as he told me he doesn't suffer for moment , he is only exhausted

I know in a few weeks I'll have to make the most horrible decision I have to do ..

he is 9 years old
I've had him when I was 15, this a gift from my mum and he is like a child for me
some people will say "it's only a dog " ... a dog who gave me more love and was more honest than a lot of people I've met lol

I don't know why I write that ... need the support of my friends from ProMuscle ... need to share ...

I know how you feel bro. I had a dog that I loved dearly pass because of an illness that we could not determine and I had to watch him go thru seizures day after day. Putting him down was one of the worst and hardest things I have ever had to do. I feel for you. just spend as much time with him as you can. If he is not in pain then just enjoy all the time you have left with him. Im sorry for you...

I prefer dogs over people, dogs are more loyal, you always know where they stand. The first dog I had I got when I was 11, she is still alive today, 16 years later. I don't think she'll make it to 17. My dog I have now is going to be 5, I cannot imagne the day she isn't around anymore, I miss her when she's at the groomers for the day...lol...we get so attached to these little furballs

That is a horrible thing to go through. I am truly very sorry to hear that especially being a dog lover myself and having an 8yo bullie. Pull together your strength and have a drink on me. You'll need it. You might also want to post this in Counselling forum. I know I would. The 2 docs in there seem to have really good opinions on how to cope. Hang in there buddie and just give him treats and whatever food he waants while he is still here. My heart goes out to you.

im so sorry. fuck those people who say its not a child. if anything happened to my bully or brussels id freak to. i lost a bully 2 yr ago, and it took me a month to get over. there r times now when i think of him and get a tear in my eye and i have to calm down abit. so you have buds here if you need em, if you need to pm me and ill give you my cell#. my boss who is a huge dog lover gave me a week off w pay and there was a card in my locker when i got back. so it helps to have people around. keep your head up, things will get better in time. later bro.

I am very sorry to hear about your dog. Don't let anyone tell you that it is just "an animal" because we know different. They can become a part of you and letting go is difficult, but I can tell that you love him and when the time comes, you will know and it will be ok. Mine was 18 when I took that drive to the vet, but he let me know that he was ready. He had stopped eating and wouldn't move unless he had to. It happens very quickly and there is no pain on the dogs part. The pain for me came later, but I was very glad to have been there with him. That may not be your choice but I would think about it. Hang in there.

AWWW!!! He's a cutie!! I have always had a soft spot for rotties.

I know what your going through, I had to put Ceasar( my dobe) down a few years ago. He had lymphosarcoma, and it was the best thing for him, ad one of the hardest thing I ever had to do.

I agree with some of the other guys, take tons of pics, and maybe keep something of his as a keep sake.

it does hurt, but I promise, it will get better.

I have a Rottie too...

Sorry to hear it bro. I have to take mine to the vet this saturday to send him to his next destination. He is ten, he's my best freind....He's helped me through some very tough times including one divorce. He herniated a disc in his neck chasing a tennis ball on wet grass, he's 180 lbs so the fall was devastating. He has lost 50% of his muscle control and can no longer get up on his own. Also sometimes he can't feel his bowels and has accidents. The toughest part is that he is 100% mentally there and still wags his little nub-tail whenver I come in the room.....he still wants to play with the tennis balls....Fuck this will be hard!!!

I feel for you mike. A lot of us have been there and it is a very difficult thing to do. My Akita, who was also about 130lbs, got cancer last summer and had to be put down..he was almost 10. I do have pictures of him and I think of him everyday, as will you. My heart goes out to you bro, and enjoy every minute with him now.

Your dog is like a family member. Enjoy your time with him as you know time's short and precious. Most of our pets have lived at leat 10 years (avg). We are down to one cat and she's 14 but still as spunky as a kitten.
