I heard it here first and a buddy just handed me the book the other. Rich dad, poor dad. I'll let ya know what I think when I'm finished. I've already learned alot by reading some things on Paul Oberson.

very good book i have read 3 others in his series i like them alot. A lot of the stuff in it i knew already most of it is pretty basic but he can be quite motivating the way he puts things

run a search for his stuff online, there is another side to this guys story.

apparently the book isn't exactly as "autobiographical" etc. as he claims.

there is one guy with a site who rebuts some of his points.

just something to check out after you read the book to see a counter opinion.

I listened to the books on my iPod last year, then I found this site your talking about and felt like I wasted all that time.

Some of the points the guy makes you notice are bs right away. This website points out the rest. However, the guy is a genious, because he makes you feel like you could be a millionare by listening to those tapes.

Love to read books,,let us know how you like it.

Does it matter if its true?

Guys:

This book is a classic. Most of my friends have read it at some point. I am in the Private Equity Lending and Real Estate Investment business and I bet that 90% of the people I deal with have read the book.

It does not matter if its totally true. It is to serve as a "parable", a motivational tool. It is meant to prompt you to action. One of the most prominent seminar speakers in Real Estate investing served time for armed robbery. This is missing from his resume. He also place many "get rich quick" ads in magazines promising overnight riches.

However, his book has very solid information useful to the investor and I recommend it on occasion to newbies who call looking for info. Yes he is a lying shit, but the info he is selling is still viable.

Rich Dad, Poor Dad, has motivated many of my investors to start their investing careers and for that alone it has value.

Motivational Books

The wife just finished "Atlas Shruged" and liked it. So far in the last year I would say "The 48 laws of Power" has been my favorite. For business related, I like "Swim with the Sharks.....Without being eaten Alive!" This ones a salesmans how to guide!

I enjoyed the 48 Laws of Power. All of the historical examples made for interesting reading.
