Donating blood while ON Cycle??

That is an admirable quality you have about not wanting to lie. In this case though I dont think it does any harm as long as you dont have any disease like Hep B etc. I think more people in this world need to be honest like you though.

Steroid users are lumped into the same category as heroin addicts sharing needles. Most people outside of this small world don't have a clue how educated most of us are. I used to work in a psychiatric floor. It seemed like every meth or heroin user in their that shared needles was positive for hepatitis C, which will eventually kill you. Many were also HIV positive as well.

I once had a very ignorant doc that I used as a family doc. When I was diagonsed with the cardiomyopathy I spilled the beans about my steroids use in hopes that it might help them decide what do to as treament etc. One of the first things he asked me was if I wanted an AIDS test! Man was I mad. Needless to say I dropped that doc fast and moved on.

No it will not. I think I discussed the reasoning earlier in the thread. It only lowers the amount of red blood cells in your blood. Now it will lower your BP the first 24 hours or so until your body builds back up the plasma.

Yeah I would figure they would run the collected blood through some kind of filtration process before preceding to administer it to the recipient.

Another question. Why do some of you donate "double red"?

I donated Double Reds cause my hematocrit was 55% and my Hemoglobin was high as well. Lots of red blood cells. When i donated i filled up the thing very quickly, they were suprised. Its cause i was on EQ which i wont take again. It brought my hematocrit down to 52% so it helped a little. You dont want high hematocrit or hemoglobin. Chance for clots.

I do a phlebotomy once a month but the doctor uses an 18 gauge needle to take mercy on me. The 18 isnt bad at all really. The 16 would be a bit worse, but really once it pierces the skin there isnt much pain at all and the size of the needle doesnt matter.

Actually the needle used for double reds is a smaller gauge than a single pint, they don't take much volume of total blood they're merely taking twice the RBC's. The volume of blood extracted is less than one pint. They of course pump that fluid back into you at the end.
I still believe most of us do better giving a full pint every 8 weeks [if you can]. Then doing the double red every 16 [which if anyone didn't know is the minimum duration between double red donations]. After all we're looking to drop more than merely RBC's so total blood volume for most of us will give us better results with respect to iron, hematocrit and basically everything outside of RBC's which will be a wash if you do single pints every 8 weeks versus double red every 16.

Hahaha i gave blood too today....did the double red cell it was very simple and i even felt a nice buzz from it lol....as far as the question above about the guage of the needle it didn't hurt at all my guy was good i have no pain or soreness in my arm and feel good about the whole experience...

Good for us to know that. If somone has significantly high hematocrit and is still on gear, there is a very good chance that wait time is going to be too long to keep the level down. I know some guys shop around and have several differnt banks that they use that are not affiliated in any way.

It really is such an insult... None of the bodybuilders I know even drink! Hell, I feel bad when I cheat on my diet!

Society for the most part is completely ignorant about steroids. We all know this on this board. That's why we hide out here! The media loves any steroid story... Best to just keep the lips closed out in the general public, this includes the gym too.

Funny thing, I have a buddy that is a Police officer... he is pissed right now because western union fucked him he thinks. I think he just doesn't know where to go to get what he needs. He is one hell of a bodybuilder... We live in a strange world!

Well I went in without knowing what questions I was going to be asked and when put on the spot I told the truth but I think I was a bit stupid to beleive they'd take my blood .
So it's not gona happen now !

I'm seeing an endo for other problems and I'm expecting hel refur me to a blood specialist when I see him next as my hct was .55 , I've since added ALA and eating grapefruit so am hoping it's gone down
Then again of it's gone down he may not refur me but I need to be as it keeps recurring
I'm trying to learn which things make it go up and I now won't touch eq or b12
I seem ok on test as it has dropped down within range before on over 1g test when I just dropped the equipoise .

All I know is they must be desperate right now as I went in and donated today and my hemoglobin was above 19 it read HHH on the meter and they said no problem. Unfortunately I didn;t have a chance to hyper-hydrate from last nights work out-so it was really high-but heard of countless times people were denied because of hemo being out of range.
