I take vitamin d3 and zinc year round. I know it’s helped boost my immune system because since I’ve started this protocol, I no longer get sick. I think vitamin d3 is underrated.
so you're at the bottom of the range even with somewhat sizeable exogenous supplementation of vitamin d-3?View attachment 204717
According to my blood work 10,000iu a day of vitamin D3 was doing absolutely nothing
"Vitamin D, 25-Hydroxy reports concentrations of two common forms, 25-OHD2 and 25-0HD3.
25-OHD3 indicates both endogenous production and supplementation.
25-OHD2 is an indicator of exogenous sources such as diet or supplementation."
VITAMIN D, 25-OH, D3 37 ng/mL
VITAMIN D, 25-OH, D2 <4 ng/mL
do you have baseline bloodwork before supplementation? maybe you were deficient and it put you back in a functioning range?Yes basically undectable amount <4
taken orally this is the brand I was taking 2x a day

It was 42 in April I was taking 5,000iu a day and wanted to bring it up so I went to 10,000iu a day and it dropped to 37. Reference range is 30-100. Now I just try to get more daily natural sunlight. I stopped the D3 supplement and I'm going to retest this monthdo you have baseline bloodwork before supplementation? maybe you were deficient and it put you back in a functioning range?
or maybe the oral bioavailability is just low and it would require higher supplementation, or to be taken IM or subq like with vitamin b-12 if you're trying to get into the upper part of the reference range
Switch to Thorne. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen people use cheaper brands only to not have their bloodwork not budge with vitamin D. Even if it is #1 rated on Amazon. LolYes basically undectable amount <4

This! ive seen it with all kinds of supps, ppl buy cheap brands and get only 50% of the effect, they shift to a name brand and bam they need to cut dose not to get to much all of a sudden..Switch to Thorne. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen people use cheaper brands only to not have their bloodwork not budge with vitamin D. Even if it is #1 rated on Amazon. Lol
Thorne works 99% of the time and comes in a 5000iu small capsule.
Thorne, Jarrow, Life Extension, Doctor's Best, Solaray, NOW. Use reputable well-known brands! I can't understand people who purchase fly-by-night no name brands to save a buck or people that buy off grocery/drug store/big box store shelves.Switch to Thorne. I need a 10k units softgel a day to stay at the top of the reference range.Good find, knew it was important but didn't know if could help with p ratio. What dosages are people taking? I believe my pills are 1k and I take 2 ...with a fatty meal if possible. Is there any potential toxicity if we take too much?
Especially when talking about something like D3 that is less than $10.00 a bottle for 120 day supply from the reputable brands. I understand when looking at products like Krill or Ubiquinol, the higher price point items, but fucking D? Seriously?Thorne, Jarrow, Life Extension, Doctor's Best, Solaray, NOW. Remember that you don't want to buy some capsules or tablets that sat for a year or two in a Texas warehouse with little to no ventilation etc.
Your supplements suck. Brand, quality, purity, form, co-factors, it all matters. I use a designs for health liquid Vitamin D, its like $24, lasts months. 4 drops per day took me from 30`s to 80`s on lab work.According to my blood work 10,000iu a day of vitamin D3 was doing absolutely nothing
Damn. I noticed in the store there were pressed tab versions. Was surprised I always saw d and e as softgels being fat soloable...id assume a pressed tab would a worse option thoughI need a 10k units softgel a day to stay at the top of the reference range.
Just ordered I'll report back in a monthYour supplements suck. Brand, quality, purity, form, co-factors, it all matters. I use a designs for health liquid Vitamin D, its like $24, lasts months. 4 drops per day took me from 30`s to 80`s on lab work.
I would't ever use a D3 pressed tab. Odds of poor ( or no) dissolution are high with crappy brands.Damn. I noticed in the store there were pressed tab versions. Was surprised I always saw d and e as softgels being fat soloable...id assume a pressed tab would a worse option though
For Vitamin D- stick to an oil, softgel with oil or capsule with oil/vitamin e as the carrier (what Thorne does).Topical creams work better or not?
