I've been in your shoes! This is all great advice everyone has given.
Be honest (AGAIN),
but no need for detailsi UNDERSTAND 100%. I always gave a very
vague and played down description of my past without lying. You would be surprised how often people won't care
after they have met you If the personality is right!!!!. YA I GOT IT BALLS TO BONES. If you are friendly and polite and easy to talk to, you will get the job.
I don’t think it is hard to image how well I can get inside a head and crawl around for a few days!Just be yourself and don't worry, there will be other opportunities. BETTER opportunities. If you don't get hired,
I feel bad for the guy, cause he is the one who is losing!![/QUOTE]
I MEAN THAT IS SO VERY NICE OF YOU TO SAY AND I CANT THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT...AND YOU DONT EVEN KNOW THE CLUB OF BUSINESS OWNERS WHO WILL AT SOME POINT BE SORRY...I WILL SEE TO THAT!
Be honest. Many times it is not whats in your credit report or Background Check but how you respond to the questions.Years of learning things like this in colled. It was meant to have an affect on me. After it was mentioned. His comments about how his would be the only (out of what 500 Take responsibility for any shortcomings, be ready to explain steps you have taken to insure that a repeat is not going to happen. I do credit and background checks as a part of my interview process with employees. I hired a young man with a felony meth conviction and a stint in rehab two years ago and he has been a wonderful employee. He was the only one interviewed with a felony conviction and he won the position. Why did I take the chance? He was honest, forthcoming, took responsibility, and asked for a chance. He is now in a professional position with a good salary, and trustworthy. You can do this. Be yourself. You are not what others judge you to be. You are what you choose to be. Good Luck. Be at Peace

THANK YOU BUDDY! SO MUCH!
Hey NOS... you got some very good advise already.
I just wanted to tell you to go for it, and wish you good luck! People do get second chances and this could be yours...
I HOPE SO, BUT IF I DONT I WILL NOT GET PISSY OF MAD OVER IT. JUST LEARN FROM IT.
Well as far as I know nobody can turn you down because of past credit. I do think that is illegal, or at least my attorney told me. I have had a lot of people with troubled backgrounds and it didnt bother me unless they told me. And I mean like drug convictions, now child molesters or rapist, sorry i dont have any use for them. And most people have to do a background check for insurance purposes. A lot of car dealers will not hire managers because the dealers insurance said no.
I AM INTERESTED IN THIS...BUT IT WOULD COST ME LEGAL COUNCIL TO FIGHT THEM IF THEY DID HASSLE ME.
I agree. give it your best. NO is the worst they can say.good luck
I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT THAT ALIN. YOUR DAM RIGHT, THAT IS ALL THEY CAN DO OR SAY!
I was in prison for a few yrs and when i got out i changed my life . I went back to college for 4yrs and was able to get my degree. I was turned down for every job interview i went to for a whole yr because of my past. I finally went in to an interview and was upfront with the owner and just asked him to give me a shot at the job. I have now been with that company for 3 yrs now. I am a computer tech and love my job. I often thank my boss for giving me a chance. Keep your head up bro and good luck!!
I DONT HAVE YOUR KIND OF LUCK NAV.
Be honest. I have some things in my past that pop up on a background check.
I had to deal with this a year ago with my current employer a year ago. One of the things is always a potential deal breaker, so I just sat down and wrote a letter explaining what happened. Luckily, that issue has nothing to do with drugs or trust issues - a point I make sure to point out.
At the end of the interview (after they have already pretty much decided whether to hire you or not), take a moment and explain the background situation and then give them the letter. If they mention the background check before the end of the interview, just chuckle and joke around that you aren't Bin Laden after plastic surgery.[/QUI don’t think it is hard to image how well I can get inside a head and crawl around for a few days!
THAT IS DAM GOOD ADVICE...THANK YOU SO MUCH
