Dr perscribes corticosteroid,

okay so my Dr. who has me on a 200 mg T-Cyp 1 x Week. Has decided I could benifit from injections around my spine of corticosteroid (e.g., triamcinolone, betamethasone) (And the Dr says i may notice more gain )
I laughed, and thought okay. Anyone have any experience with this? Or does anyone know alot about this (e.g., triamcinolone, betamethasone) ???

Well, I was the product manager at Pfizer for methlypredisolone. So i know something.

You may gain more weight on a corticosteroid, but it will be 100% bloat. I believe they can also be catabolic and lower your immune system. (its been 12 years, forgot more than I remember)

They are great for pain and inflamation. It may allow you to train, but it will not help your appearence.

Usuage ove time can also deterioate bone and muscle. Unless you have to absolutely have it, I wouldn't take it. Its a bad drug on the body. It can be necessary for certain diseases like lupus. It works by shutting of the immune response that can mean you pick up stuff alot easier since your immune system is down.
My wife's aunt has lupus,and the side effects from the drug will kill her as sure as the disease.

Corticosteroids and anabolic steroids are completely different. YOu will not gain muscle.

Correctly understood... My bigggest concerns are what becomes of this down the Road? And has anyone considered this as a Quick fix to avoid any thought of Surgery? Anyone have any success or good experioences with it, OR bad Experiences?

I had my spine injected last fall and it has been a god sent. It worked great. I usually get about one a year.

I have used oral as well as injectable Corticosteroids on and off over the last 30 years for tendonitis or undiagnosed back issues. They are dangerous drugs that offer incredible relief and should be used sparingly.

I broke my tibia while on high doses of prednisone and attribute it to the bone loss cause by prednisone.

didnt gain any weight on the methyl prednisone pack i took for a lower back injury. if your diet is clean bloat will be minimal if any

Yeah , Thanks... Im going for the injections. GOod to know it does help and is worth the while. I was told about 1 injection could last from anywhere around 2 weeks to 1 year to 2 years ( It just depends on how My body responds to it )
