I wasnt referring specifically to your privacy rights. HIPAA covers more than just privacy. I was referring to this stmt you made, "he said ohh don’t worry the ppl working in insurance authorization department literally will just write down shit on you file to get stuff approved."

That sounds like a very serious violation that would fall somewhere in HIPAA's medicaid Integrity Program/Fraud and Abuse if I had to guess.

Yes I Agee with you, and I knew that the part you were referring to. I was just trying to show what they get away with( that’s why I did make the call and document it, but theirs nothing the little guy can do unless he got 10gs to start that process). Idk about you guys but I see a lot of different specialist docs and use mom n pop pharma and they both are saying insurance companies are out of control this year. I wish I would of stuck with ******** one, but my company is affiliated with another.

I know a lot of people in insurance part and have generation of family members that have been pharma reps that have all worked for the top 5 the biggest companies in the world. As you know they have agendas and they get what they want. I would even say they carry more power in the United States than any other organization just because of the financials to destroy anything they want.

So in order to fight it you would probably need a good lawyer and a lot of money, even then youd be sitting in some facility. I sure hope that qualified people are making those decisions and for the right reasons. that's a bit scary.

They can only hold you 3 days if you act like you are not a danger to yourself or others. I'm pretty sure it's nationwide with different criteria. It's saved a lot of lives.

I just hope that a qualified person is making that decision. They have a tremendous amount of power. If they say you are a danger and you feel you aren't, then its time to lawyer up.

Well will see if anything else comes up. I do see a psychologist for my anxiety and ADHD. But I've been going to him for years.

Did you in the course of conversation mention owning firearms? Many doctors tend to be anti-gun and as mentioned in other posts a psych evaluation might be part of the process in determining if they should recommend confiscation of weapons.

I worry about that with my kids' doctor. Every year when we go in for their physical they ask if there is a gun in the house. Before we go in I always remind them to just say no! That isn't anyone's business.

The police in Arizona raid a home to take away a boy that previously had a 105 degree fever. The kid's doctor reported the parents to CPS and the cops went to his home to take him from his parents. When they got there the father told them no, go away. They came back with a search warrant and forced their way in with guns drawn. What a crazy country we live in now. Big time over reach of big brother. The author of the article asks, who really has control over our kids? Is it the state or the parents? The state will probably force him to be vaccinated now too, his parents didn't want that. Personally I think it is foolish not to vaccinate, but I believe that is a parent's right. Whole other argument there.

That boy needed to be taken from those parents. He is a fucking moron not to take a kid with 105 fever to the hospital. I don't feel sorry for these assholes who are endangering kids lives due to their own selfishness.

I just think it is a slippery slope when you have the government using force like this. I agree with the family's lawyer that this kind of action should be reserved for violent offenders, not parents. By the time the cops came the boy didn't even have a 105 degree fever. The whole thing could have been worked out, but the parents were probably partly to blame for that since it sounds like the police were not allowed to see the child.

This story goes along with how one of our members had his doctor have the police do a "wellness" check on him. It just seems that the government is becoming more and more of a nanny state every year. Our rights seem to be witling away slowly each year here.

12 year old in s Florida died from this exact incident from a simple cold that half the state had. It wouldn’t be so stupid if you ex wife or school had your kid when he got sick and turned them away would it?

I get the point your tring to make, I don’t agree with what’s going on in this country but you are thinking as a level head adult a good amount of ppl in this country don’t use or have the common sense that they should to say the least. I have heard the most horrific stories of child abuse that are scared in my brain.

I would never avoid giving any of my kids a vaccine, or let them go with a 105 degree fever without seeking help. I do however has some respect for individual right, the rights of a person/family as a US citizen. It is a very tough issue IMO.

I do think that schools need to ban any students from attending a school system if they don't have vaccinations. Right now I think almost all schools allow exceptions for religious and personal choices not to. Some healthcare workers are angry about being forced to do a flu vaccine. We had a debate on here a long time back about that. I just don't want the government to have too much control over our personal lives. A bit like how Obamacare created a fine if you don't have health insurance. Too much control IMO.

Regardless, a person shouldn't have to worry about LE breaking in your door with guns drawn because your child has a fever. Overreach IMO.
