Drug Testing for Firefighers

It's going to be a 5 panel test, no AAS. You guys have to get over that drug tests are too expensive to do. A test that would detect the presence of AAS is about $150- keep in mind that a municipality may put on what - 20 firemen or cops a year at most - so clearly that's not a huge expense. Yes I know NYC or Los Angeles certainly put more on but you get the point. Also get out of your head that anyone wants jacked cops. Keep in mind that the people who make the hiring rules/policies/procedures are NOT police, they are lawyers, administators etc who have the city or municipalities best interest in mind (read that as they are trying to keep the city from getting sued)

Cops at the gym are cool. Cops as neighbors can be cool. Cops pulling you over usually aren't cool. Whether you believe in 'roid rage' or not, androgens affect your brain, thought process and can overall affect decisions made. I DON'T want anyone carrying a gun on our streets(cop or swat) to have anything in their system that can POSSIBLY affect a decision they have to make in a split second.

When I was a kid (thanksgiving day 1990) the SWAT team invaded MY house. Machine guns, yelling, screaming, little brothers crying the whole works. They had the wrong house. They were looking for my dads estranged brother, an uncle I hadn't seen in years. Anyway, we were law abiding citizens and they made a mistake but they came into my house with guns drawn, anything could have happened.

Over-seas military? Go for it.
