With all the cardiovascular related deaths recently I thought I should share this you guys. There has been research linking a crease in ones earlobe as a sign of cardiovascular disease. A few weeks ago while shaving I noticed a crease in my left earlobe and thought huu thats new?
So I asked my doc about it turns out he is very familiar with it he even wrote a paper on it in college.
According to him theres I believe he said a CT scan now that can detect clogged arteries? He is scheduling one for me my dad and his dad died of clogged arteries!

thats about what mine looks like

I am sure you will be ok, but keep us informed brother :)

Plaque can start building up on the arterial wall in adolescence, everyone should have a heartscan at some point to know for sure. Almost every heart attack is because of plaque buildup, it is very rare for cardiac events to happen for any other reason.

There are two types of heartscans, one has a fraction of the radiation, the other is a serious dose of radiation. I suggest the former.

This topic is covered extensively in The Healthy Bodybuilder by Shelby and I.

Several cardiologists I know take "ear lobe crease" as a possible cardiovascular issue, while doing a global assessment of a patient.

Ironically, I listen to doctor radio on Sirius Xm in the mornings. A Thoracic heart surgeon (Dr.Fred Feitt) on this morning was talking about this specifically. As an association.

Clubbing of the finger nails is also a possible indication of heart or pulmonary issues also.

About two months ago I had a calcium heart scan. Came back at 4. :)

My dad died last month unexpectedly from a heart condition. He was 56. Rode a bike every day and every weekend. In good shape. Didnt matter. His father (my gdad) died from a heart condition. His brother died of a heart condition. Needless to say, heart disease runs in my family and im 100% certain something is not right with mine. I get a few sharp pains every now and then for no reason and some fluttering out of left field. Im only 33. Way I look at it at this point, if God takes me, he takes me. Ill only prolong the inevitable.

This is news to me. Are there any other identifying physical factors that have been identified?

Finger nail splinters (hemorrhage) under the nail bed can be a possible indication of endocarditis.

If by chance your calcium score comes back high, I would highly recommend that you join up at Track your plaque. It's run by Dr. Davis, in which he's a preventive cardiologist.

There are several members that have slowed and regressed their plaque growth. I could regurgitate several strategies used that's suggested at TYP. Although I value my membership there as a paid member. It's a stipulation that members don't copy and paste information posted there, elsewhere.

Hope your score comes back good!

Don't use god or religion as an easy out here... This is your life you are talking about here.

Just look at what medical science can do. People who should have died many years ago are still around (for better or worse..)

Heart disease is no joke and no one here will deny the role genetics play on life and longevity. Your genetic condition may be treatable or fixable. You don't have to leave it to god. This may very well be the only life you will ever have so knowing what you know, I would aggressively pursue this.

That is a nice feeling knowing you are that low, I would say everyone should have a scan at some point, if for nothing than the peace of mind.

If you have heart disease, you can take precautions to prevent it from getting worse and even reverse it to some degree. This isn't something to just ignore, it's something to address and prevent.
