I love these episodes. Bev's seems like a nice gym to train at and Steve comes across as an interesting man. I would love to train there one day just to soak in the inspiration in the atmosphere

Not like it's any secret. I don't think it plays as big a part as it comes across though. Most people get what they deserve. But it's a great strategy to get in good with Steve I would think.

I agree with other posters in that the atmosphere is probably great but I really don't want a gym with a bunch of outdated crap that is dirty. Also, people are right in that these guys will train where the most judges are.

My gym is the best. It's a powerhouse, 3 minutes from my house. It has that old-school atmosphere/equipement/clientel but is also a good family gym. Both my kids are members as are lots of other families from the area. It has osmething for everyone. I'll take it any day of the week and would do so even if I was competing again.

Taking nothing away from Bev's place. I would take her gym over 99% of the gyms out there; just not over my own neighborhood gym.

I can understand that. Metroflex Arlington is pretty kick ass but after you train there a few times you realize how dirty and beat up all the weights and equipment is. I think it's the novelty affect with these hardcore gyms. I still love them but I would probably still have another gym to train at when I wasn't in the mood for the "hardcore" scene

What's really a hardcore gym? Beat up equipments and weights? Trash everywhere? filthy smelly bathrooms? sweat on the equipments and spit on the mirrors? Broken unsafe benches?

If that's hardcore; I don't want to be hardcore.. I'll take a clean plant fitness over this bullshit..
