I turn rocks over and eat black ants all the time. iv been doing it since I was 11 and was shown on a 60 mile backpacking trip across the Olympic mountains by our outdoor survival instructor that you can eat them. I actually like them and ill sometimes eat handfuls of them. they taste like sour grape zotts candy. try it itl surprise you. iv done several week long hikes without packing any food. go fast hike lite eat whats available. mostly fir tree needles and ants with the occasional snake or rabbit. good stuff

I actually ordered a small pack of crickets off Amazon because I was curious. They had three flavors - one of which was sour cream and onion. I thought it was going to be gross, but after the first one I threw them back like popcorn hahaha. You get used to the consistency quickly.
The truth is, some insect DO have much protein than eggs and can be good for your body. For example, mealworms will fill you up and boost your metabolism. Eating crickets can lower your blood pressure,etc. Go google it if you are interested.
