Eating on the road

Guys I need a plan! I'm going to be in a casino hotel for over 2 weeks while on a business trip. I think I may have to live off bars and powder most of the time. The rooms do not have a microwave or a damn fridge. I guess they want guests to eat in the 10 places located in the casino!! I know some of you guys deal with this so I need some help. If I had a micro and fridge I would be fine.

Tunafish packets
beef jerkey
nuts
instant oatmeal
All natural peanutbutter

QuestProteinBars.com had protein bars without sugar or sugar alcohol in them

Mre loaded with about 3000 calories each there are plenty of things to take with ya to eat

Make soup or oatmeal in the coffee maker!

U can warm up your food with the hair dryer in the hotel room. I had done it before....

Most hotels have ice machines, which is going to help. Take a cab to walmart when you get there and buy a cheap cooler along with all your protein (ie: chicken). Fill the cooler with ice. Also, bring a george forman grill with you to grill your meats. use the microwave in the lobby or continental breakfast area, or at a nearby gas station, to cook your oatmeal or instant rice...or bring a rice cooker to cook rice if you can fit it in.

I took a 7 day road trip across the country and stayed in hotels every night- this is how i was able to stick to my diet.

hope it helps, but remember- ENJOY YOURSELF!

Steak and eggs and oatmeal from the restaurants should not be a problem. Fruit/nuts/packaged tuna from the market to cover holes. Most restaurants will offer a grilled menue (tuna, chicken, fish) that you can get something off the menue and not torpedo your diet. You are stressing before you have even arrived and surveyed your options.

It seems like 2 or 3 weeks before all of my big shows, i've always had some type of obligation that involves an extended hotel stay... weddings, bachelor parties, family reunions, etc.... This is what I usually do, and it has yet to keep me from placing well..

I routinely grill up about 15lbs of trimmed up chicken breast, and cut it all up and package it into seperate freezer bags... one for each day.. (3 days =approx 15lbs chicken)... Put it in a cooler with ice packs, and then at the hotel, continuously, and as often as possible, fill the cooler with ice from the ice machine. Since I was pre-contest, my only other foods were oats and rice cakes. Rice cakes took care of themselves, and for oats, i bought sugar free instant oatmeal packets, and would put one in a coffee cup, mix it with cold water, and eat it like it was cereal. I'd also get dry salads from the hotel restaurant and put my own chicken on it. I always felt like my little 3 day "vacations" prior to competitions ALWAYS made me harden up. For some reason being restricted solely to chicken breast and oats, rather than the other diet-friendly foods I used at home, caused an immediate plateau breaker and conditioning improved.

Thanks to everyone for the ideas!! Some good ideas floating around!! I appreciate it. Don't ask me why but tuna packs slipped my mind as did the lobby microwave. I guess I could also use the iron to cook some stuff in foil too if Im careful.

Any more tips are welcome!
