Elevated PSA

An older friend got blood work done to see his PSA is 9. He's waiting to see what the doctor has to say, but he's obviously worried. He has never used AAS. He's just a regular person.

Is there anything that anyone could recommend to try to bring that number down?

I'd love to hear thoughts and suggestions.

A high PSA isn't something you want to bring down necessarily, it's an indicator that something is wrong. It's like if the check engine light goes on in your car, you don't want to make the light go off, you want to find out why it's on.

He very likely has a prostate issue that must be addressed.

Most likely will be referred to a Urologist to get a biopsy. Went through this last year, had a PSA of 6.6 and found cancer so ended up having a Radical Prostatectomy , wasn't a lot of fun but not the end of the world either, still here and alive.

my opinion and experience

At least 48 hours prior to your blood test, do not get a digital examination
of your prostate gland by your urologist, ride a bike, have sex or masturbate
or have an ongoing case of prostatitis. These ‘activities’ have been known
to elevate your PSA number, perhaps giving you a ‘false’ high reading.
