I competed in this year's Emerald Cup and placed 2nd in the HW class. I lost the first place vote by 3 points. I had many people come up to me after prejudging and tell me that I had it in the bag! Anyone who saw the show, I was wondering what you saw, and any feed back for me going into the Cal State in 4 1/2 weeks. Thanks.

The Tadster looked awesome! But I had you second all the way , I thought Matt Lowden was the hands down winner of that class. i was front and center 1 row behind the judges.. DO THE CAL!

Thought I recognized you....

I weighed you in and was the expiditor calling numbers backstage. I didn't get to see the show from out front so I couldn't get a good comparison but you were both in great shape....huge quality heavyweight class! You should do the Cal most definately!!!

Good luck

You were awesome, and I really think Matt took it from the backside. Shredded hams/glutes and a lower back to boot. I kinda thought it would be him 1st place. Anyhow, great job and good luck in Cali.

you looked really good!

your upper body especially, but i thought your upper body over powered your lower body...it could have been the angle (i was off center to the right, about 5 or 6 rows back i think). I MEAN NO DISRESPECT AT ALL TADSTER, I WAS SUPER IMPRESSED WITH YOUR UPPERBODY! i dont know if you or anyone will agree with me, but thats just what i saw. i was also sitting next to my buddies aunt who is an NPC judge and asked her her thoughts and she agreed with me...again though, no disrespect, obviously you have a very quality physique...you placed second behind the overall winner in a great show.

I ahve to agree it was a tough tough class...

his glutes and hammies were shredded...

not knocking you at all, you came in sharp...he was just that little bit more conditioned.

STRONG SHOWING

Thanks everyone. I will be doing the Cal and the USA. I plan to drop to the Light Heavies and do better. Thank you again. I truly appreciate the constructive comments. I am just trying to put my physique together so it is as complete as possible. All part of the process. Thanks again.

I was sitting front row-center. I don't think it had much to do with weaknesses on your part. When you took stage, I found you to be thick, dense, full, and balanced. My attention immediately riveted to you. I can see you taking first in many events in that condition. The problem was Matt Lowden just dialed everything and timed everything on the button, which is so infrequent you don't even see it at every event.

I would try to come in a little tighter to get the muscle groups separated and more striations. However, keep in mind that fine-tuning should be your goal. I don't have all the sheets in front of me, so I don't know how you weighed in. Hence, you should proceed with caution in terms of dropping weight or a weight class. Be careful not to lose any of your strong points I mentioned above.

For those who haven't seen Tad at the Emerald Cup, I posted a photo in this thread. As you can see, you're struck by his strong points, not by weaknesses.

U DA MAN!

Thank you soo much for your compliments Lou, it is so encouraging to hear from judges like yourself as well as all of the fantastic people who stopped me and who email me. I truely appreciate the fanfare and comments.

My plans to try to make the LHW class I hope won't take away from my strengths. I weighed in at 203.4 lbs on Friday at the Emerald Cup. I feel that I do have a few lbs that I can drop but like you alluded to, not much. I actually only moderately carbed up. After a few cheat meals i weighted almost 220 lbs on Tues. So I feel that this may be the last year that I have much of a chance of competing as a LHW. What are your thoughts?

Considering how you weighed in on Friday, if that is representative of your competition weight on Saturday, I agree that dropping those few pounds might be a good idea.

From everything I've seen and read, I think your gut reaction will steer you right.
