Encompass 360 upgrade has proven to be a pretty stable upgrade and install. I have done it on both SQL Express servers and SQL Enterprise servers. Allow yourself some time for the databases to be updated as even on a powerful 8 processor, 8GB RAM box with SQL Enterprise, it did take some time. Although I imagine they throttled it priority-wise as processes never went above 30% on 2 of the processors. Either way allow about 4 hours to keep yourself safe. Make a full backup prior and you will save yourself some time as you can opt out of the backup procedures that are built into the installer. Once done, the client install update for the client PCs is fairly large at 65MB that will pull from the server itself, so I would distribute the "net install" package first to the netbranches and any people outside of the office where the LAN is that houses the server(s) so that you can save your bandwidth and the clients on the WAN side will pull from EllieMae's servers. In other words, the net installer is basiclly a setup program that downloads the rest of the necessary files. The net install is only about 50k so you can zip it and email it out to the whole company at a size of about 27K. These are the small net installs that are usually hard to find on their site:
