This may be no big deal to others but I wanted to share anyway. I thought of this the other day: It's a variation of the xtreme stretch for quads. I found by putting my one foot up on the stool I was able to further balance and pull myself forward, thus enabling the leg being stretched to relax more and get an even more extreme stretch. Plus by having the one foot up on the stool, my pelvis has a posterior tilt thus really getting the rectus femorus good.

this is actually a really good idea. 2 legs its hard to get in the right position and keep it there... this one you would have much better control and if you really squeeze that glute and get even more out of it... nice. I will try this
 
I like using something like this for my quad stretch - I kneel down and place a foam roller under my ankles for support, and then lean back as far as I can. I either do it close to a wall so that i can use it for support or have a partner behind me that i can grab onto. Similar to this picture but with the addition of the foam roll under my ankles which lifts my lower leg up to meet my upper leg and gives a little more of a stretch. I do 60 seconds per leg and then another 60 seconds of both legs together.
