EXTREMELY SCARED! LUMP ON SHOULDER

I JUST INJECTED 1CC INTO MY SHOULDER. I ALWAYS DO IT AND HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. IVE BEEN DOING IT FOR OVER A YEAR. TODAY FOR SOME STRANGE REASON I INJECTED NO PROBLEM AND WHEN I PULLED IT OUT BLOOD JUMPED OUT AND A BIG LUMP APPEARED. IT WENT DOWN AND IM USING A WARM CLOTH.
SHOULD I BE SCARED? SHOULD I GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM?

i wouldn't go the the er unless it started getting really really swollen... def would not worry too much and put ice on it, not a warm cloth

i massaged it and had a warn cloth it and it went down. its just brused now

If it's a little sore, use some ibuprofen and diphenhydramine(benadryl). Sounds like you didn't aspirate.

relax bro you just hit a vain. i hit them in the glute Evey now and then and blood squirts all over the floor. and it will usually leave quite a not there.its like sleeping on a golf ball.if a week goes buy and it is swelling and sore then start to worry.

Exactly. If you keep up with using AAS for many years having this happen is commonplace. Even if you do aspirate, sometimes the blood wont show in the syringe so thats not foolproof. You should always aspirate though,as it is the only way to check for this sort of thing. You went in through one side of the vein and then out the other! Blood leaks out of the vein once you take out the needle. The bubble or lump is from all of the blood building up under the skin. It didnt bleed when the needle was in there because the needle was acting to plug up the hole. I remember hitting some real gushers, where it would shoot out like a gyser onto the floor.

Yeah, it sure does! The first time I was shocked at how far it shot, id say at least 3 feet or so. I figured the blood would just leak out slowly, not shoot out. It was a shock to say the least.
I guess I can see how he freaked out, so I dont think its right to be hard on him. He was concerned and came here for advice/help and thats a good thing IMO. Better he do that than nothing at all. I think its great we have this forum here to help others out.

Towlie - I was trying to be casual about it - you'll be fine. What you described has happened to 98% of everybody here. Ice it (doesn't feel good) OR gently massage until the swelling goes down. Then heat will be appropriate...
If it is not significantly better within 48 hours - get medical attention.

we have to remember its a little scary when you first start out.that first injection was terrifying.

yeah the swelling went down.. i was so scared i started sweating like crazy and i was freaking out. thanks for your help..
i dont ever aspirate.. i feel like an air bubbles gonna come in and it will go into my body... but its all in my mind. how do i get over that feeling?

i knwo this gets asked alot i tried searching couldnt find anything and i didnt wanna waste time so i posted it.
i googled searched it and they said massage it and put a warm cloth so i did that but they said nothing about dangers or blood squirrting out

If you aspirate, you will draw in blood & know to start over. If you don't aspirate, you will have the MOTHER OF ALL COUGHING FITS or worse... Can you say "oil embolism"?

Micro bubbles will expand from the relative low pressure you create when you pull back on the plunger. They will disappear/contract when you apply pressure.

Did you research anything before you started using? Or did you just say hey this is cool and poke yourself? Yes if it looks like an air bubble comes up go if blood comes up move to another spot.
