Apothic Inferno!

Mix them!! My favorite is a bourbon like, bullet, makers, or knob creek with a port and splash of sweet vermouth, dash of bitters, shaken and strained. Amazing!

My last drink was xmas day and I`m trying to go till the spring. It`s been lots of hot tea at night lately.

I think you would really like Apothic Inferno then. It isn't a really expensive fine wine but it is so unique. They age the wine in oak barrels that had bourbon in them and so it has the flavor of bourbon in there. It is kinda "hot" hence the name. They also make a good wine with coffee in it. That tastes really good to me and I don't even like coffee!

The thing that sucks, they only make these wines a certain time of the year. Inferno usually comes out sometime in early October, before Halloween. The coffee stuff came out another time but I cant remember when. I stock up on them when they come in at the grocery. Buy a case if you are smart. People sell the inferno online for like 2 to 3x what it cost to buy. I still have one bottle left from 2018 and plan on saving it for awhile. They seem to age the wine 3 years before it is release so the bottle I have is 2015.

I cant wait to get some great wine in Italy when we go on vacation. Maybe I can have some shipped home, or sneak some in with the luggage.

Same here. Typically 2 glasses a night, and I like good wine, so unfortunately my couple of glasses a night costs me around $250 a month. Throw in a bottle when we go out to dinner on the weekends and that number gets close to $400-$500. I've gotten better though and thank God for the folks at total wine. I've been educated on some good bottles in the $8-$12 range vs. $20-$50.

We have a nice grocery near our home that has a very large stock of all sorts of wine. Cheap stuff up to several hundred dollars or more. They have a room that is all locked up where they keep the really good stuff. I guess you have to ask to be let in there.

They have one area where their wine person picks out wines that are below $30 and ranked 90 pts or higher. They do the work for you. I almost always buy mine from that area since I don't know wine very well. I am getting to know it better though and am really getting into tasting wine.
