FAVRE TRADED TO THE JETS?!?!?!

does anyone else think it's gonna be crazy to see him in a Jets uniform? i think both Favre and the packers organization handled this whole situation the wrong way.

Being from the Green Bay area it's a mixed reaction. One, I think he acted like a spoiled brat and screwed the team over a bit. On the other hand how could the team not take him back? Do they know something we don't, possible injury?

I think Brett isn't stable enough to make this decision. Could he be having problems with depresion? It happened to Terry Bradshaw when he tried to retire.

I have a susspision that pennington will now be a viking. Green Bay made its moves by drafting Brian Brom. The vikings need a quarterback who doesn't make mistakes. He doesn't have to win the game for them. just not loose it.

All Green bay did was stick to their guns...They committed to to their future with Brooks, just cuz Favre changes his mind again doesnt mean the packers should drop everything and cater to him again...They already went out their to work out a deal in the offseason to bring him back and he told them he changed his mind and didnt want to play...I think he really tarnished his name pulling this BS with a team that has had his back his whole career...I think it hurt his pride a lot when they told him he could comeback as a back-up...so he threw his little tantrum to try and get his way...

Favre should have stay retired. He would have finished his career with a pretty good season. Instead, he now becomes the latest great football player that should've quit on a positive note.

The Jets were 4-12 last year. How many more games can they win with Favre? 2, maybe 4 at best?

If you look back I think it was the 2005 and 2006 season he had like 26 TD's and 47 Picks. He could easily revert back to that again, but he may be more motivated than ever.

For those of us in Atlanta, it is hard to get the image out of my head of the drunken version of Favre hanging out at American Pie 5 nights a week. Trading him was not the Falcons finest hour.

Pennington will go to Green Bay or Washington but where ever he goes he won't go as a starter. Favre won't stay a Jet for long, the Packers weren't going to let him go to Chicago or another team in that division so he figures he'll make this move so he can make another, watch. As far as I'm concerned he's really tarnishing his legacy.

Well, I am sure if they brought FAVRE back to start, RODGERS would have requested a trade because he is sick of being a back-up (past 4 seasons). I am sure ROGERS is ready to get in there and get things started as a starter. The PACKERS see that and probably did not want to lose him over this whole thing (non=proven QBs are a dime a dozen in this league).

We live in an era as a win now worry about things later type of crowd...I am surprised they did not bring Farve back for one last go at a Super Bowl and then look toward the future.

Well if Farve sucks nuts as a JET, then people will say he should have stayed retired...if ROgers sucks nuts at Green Bay (his first year as a starter), then everyone will say they should not have let FARVE go.

Well in the end, I am sure the packers did what was best for the organization...but I bet you 1,000,000 FAVRE would put more butts in the seats than ROGERS.

If the Jets trade him to the Vikings, and possibly other teams, the Packers have a clause in the deal they will get four (I think) first round picks...or something to that order.

Wonder what it will be like going from one of the smallest markets, to one of the largest. I always envisioned Favre talking to the 3-5 local, regional reporters after each game in Green Bay, to now, what 20-30 reporters after every game. Will the NY crowd eat him alive if you doesn't play well?

Even though Tampa is a better team, i think NY is a better fit for Brett. He always played poorly in warm weather games, so at least he can stay in a cooler climate. He would have been the media focus anywhere he went, so i doubt the New York media will affect him.

That's a good point because Tampa Bay was the frontrunner. I have a friend that recently relo'd to AZ. and I was goofing on him last season about the Cards but they do have a young team with alot of talent. Good luck.
