FDA busted my farmer

so, i am fortunate enough to live right next door to a farmers market full of great people providing a great service to the community. one farmer in particular, his name is Ed, has provided me with unwashed, unrefrigerated, free range eggs, raw milk, and grass fed beef for about six months. i would simply wake up early on sat morning, walk right next door and pick up my goods for the week...it has been GREAT. so, this morning i get over there and all Ed is selling is raw honey and im freaking out...no way i want to go the grocery store and buy the bleached, dyed, shit meat and dead milk. turns out the feds raided his farm this past week ...guns drawn, like they were busting a crack dealer or some shit, and shut him down. Ed knew he was pushing his luck with the milk, all he would do is put a sticker on the bottle that said "for pets", but he didnt care...old man set in his ways. when i would ask him if he was afraid of being busted he would always say "you cant stop a man in the right if he keeps on a coming". i always respected him so much for standing up for what he knew was right regardless of the consequences. its not as if he was making a killing selling this stuff, his prices were VERY reasonable. so now he has to set up a cow share program and jump through all these hoops to provide his products to the community. i wont go into too much detail but he was telling me all the regulations and laws that he has to abide by and let me just tell you, if you dont think the government is targeting local farmers...your just ignorant. it makes me sick how corrupt these pieces of $hit are.

sorry for the rant. im very disappointed...not only because im sitting here eating something that looks like it is supposed to be an egg, but also because a good man lost his livelihood, and because our country has a lot in common with this egg that im eating.

very disappointing.....that's a violation of ed's rights and your rights. He was selling these goods in what would appear to be a very very private market.....

that's just complete bullshit. I have a hard time believing the FDA guys didn't call bullshit on it and just spend the day at the pub.

I read somewhere recently that a little girl had a lemonade stand set up on her lawn in a small neighborhood, just like most kids do at some point in their lives... Well, she was approached along with her parents by a gov official wanting to know if she had acquired the proper permits to have a lemonade stand... ARE YOU F'ING KIDDING ME!! This shit sent me into orbit... This little girl was doing nothing more than trying to make a little money to buy something for herself... Invoking the entrepreneurial spirit that makes this country so great... Only to have some gov asswipe come along and try to kill that spirit... I guess if she promised to share her profits with the kids who have no damn initiative to do anything for themselves then it would be ok...

I think that is another proof of the fact that all organisations fighting for human rights are bs. If I am willing to buy a product and someone wants to sell it and there is no way I could harm anyone except from me with it why does anyone bother? Its bullshit isn't it. By law you can't sell a food product unless you have the right permits and follow the rediculous regulations that come along with them.
My buddy got arrested for selling fish he caught off his charter fishing boat because he didn't have a proper 3 well stainless steel sink with hot and cold running water. It's bullshit, the fish was being used as bait for lobstermen and not even being consumed (although it would have been more then safe to eat, being caught that day) He was given a warning by the Enviromental police and when he didn't complie they arrested him. The charge I don't recall but i'm sure it had to do with not having a wholsaler or dealer license.

He was told it wasn't fare to the fish markets, although the fish markets gave away the scaps for free to the same fisherman.

There was a time in America that if a Government agent came on your land without invitation, you had the legal right to shoot him down. The idea that an Agent could come onto a farm like that and do what they did, would have been unthinkable to our founders.

I often wonder where the breaking point is... that is: the point at which most law abiding, English Speaking, tax paying US citizens say "enough is enough".

I swear we are like Frogs in warm water. All comfortable, swimming around...not noticing that the heat is increasing. By the time we see that we are boiling to our collective death, it will be too late.

I don't know about any of you, but I'm not crazy about the fact that in another 20 years we will have become England, or, worse, France. Talk about a sick Irony.

I think too many people forget that the purpose of the Constitution is to LIMIT the powers of the government. Imagine, this country was founded on the premise that the government must be watched and throttled.

Well the FDA is just trying to make sure we are safe..... that's why they approve valium, oxycodone, and numerous other addictive painkillers and they won't let the farmers sell fresh raw milk...oh wait that doesn't make any f*cking sense oh well america is becoming where the more freedom you want the more money and lobbyists you need!!
