I just left a commercial gym> Home Gym(built a lot of integrity this way to grind it out with no mirrors or motivation except my own), now going to a "boutique" style gym. A little more costly but its raw iron and good stuff. Its not "hardcore" but people there push themselves. There are a few IG chicks with a million followers that go there. Its also a private facility for trainers to bring clients. Everyone is grinding there and I love it. Nothing like feeling like you gotta push harder than the person next you. I aint no baby back bitch. Sack up or go do hot yoga.
I was the biggest guy at my gym for years. When I got the chance to lift at Golds in Venice (2018 - 2019), I loved every minute. Being around guys who are bigger and stronger is inspirational. I spent a year after that lifting at Metroflex in Long Beach, which was also awesome. I can't imagine being in a hardcore gym and not loving it.
My new gym doesn't have the same hardcore equipment. I haven't seen anyone there who looks like they're in shape. It's just better than not having a gym.
