Feeling sick during training....intra?

GSB,



Well, I think the discussion of peri-workout recovery supplementation has side-tracked your issue here.



You've been using the same intra / peri- for a while (Peptopro and HBCD's).



You've not said (I don't think) what you mean more exactly about feeling "sick."



Are you nauseated, feverish, dizzy?...



You DID say you're sneezing a lot.... :)



Here are some thoughts for you:



-You might be developing a food intolerance if you've been using the same exact shake for so long. You might simply try using a different source of hydrolyzed casino and HBCD's.



-Per the above, a new FLAVOR might be helpful - if the flavoring is the issue.



-You're also changing a few things when you're training:



Environment: Could be something in the gym, like a cleaning solution they've switched to. (I'm guessing you're not getting a rash?...)



You're training (obviously) and thus increasing ventilation and exposure of your lungs to whatever is in the air there. IT could be that you've got some allergies that are worsened by the greater exposure b/c of the ventilation.



Anything else in the gym, like water, chalk you're using, etc.

In addition to stopping the intra-, I might also (ONE at a time:



-Try another gym (just get a day pass)

-Bring your own water. (Your water source for your drink could be an issue. heck even mold in your ice maker....)

-Also examine your pre-workout meal, too. :)



Time of day at the same gym could be an issue, if you're in a polluted place (rush hour) or if it's a cleaning solution thing.

Ask anyone who lives in Vegas - Training at a casino after a big flood is a prime time for growing.

(When I was a kid, we'd sneak down to to the riverboat casinos after a thunderstorm and do push-up and chins on whatever we could find. I've never had a better pump or grown so fast.)

I did pm knight as he replied a lot in this thread but he hasn't got back to me.

Pre workout I get so confused by as so many different opinions.

My pepto pro and carb sources have changed as I used to use Vitargo and another source of pepto pro.

I feel sick in the stomach and quite often get regular headaches towards the last half of my session. More so on leg day.

I drink a good 4 or 5 litres a day so doubt I'm dehydrated?

BP is fine too.

I'm not taking an AI on cycle but that won't have direct links to me feeling sick as that's happened before when I have been taking an Ai.

I've tried another gym also.

Scott do you think intra really does make a big difference?

I trained on just water and I don't think I felt sick once.

As far as the pre workout meal goes do you agree at all with just protein and fats like 90 mins before but the meal before that can have Good low gi carbs and veg?

I live in Vegas and it took me a while to figure this out.[emoji33]
 
instead of making complicated, why not just drink Gatorade like every other pro athlete in the world does while they are performing? guys with 20mil a year contracts seem to think Gaotrade is fine for them when playing in front of the whole world, so its fine for me too...add some bcaas if you want...never felt anything like sick stomach or any of that stuff... the big gatorades are 2 for $3 and have ~55g of carbs plus electrolytes...



and I'm NOT saying the latest intra ingredients like the pepto pro, cyclic dextrin stuff isn't good... but if still having issues, id just keep it simple...


Love the Gatorade - that's what I use during but then again in 30 years I always eat before I work out - cereal with whey milk, friggin hamburger , last nights moo goo GAi pan oh and my favorite pre workout food especially when dieting and not joking: slice of papa Gino pizza - I get huge pump and my endurance never falters . I do use ton of amino caps , stims etc - certs I ingredients will cause reacting . People should keep a diary of anything passing lips to see if a pattern exists to determine what causes nausea . As a 50 year old that between combat and bodybuilding train 6-12 hours day . I eat - never over eat , small amounts only of my faves , history of ulcers and hiatal hernia but I could eat steak preworkout and have best workout in my life. Quantity sometimes is factor . Or a sensitivity to food or ingredient but I never get sick as I've healed most if my ailments through nutrition and bodybuilding . Even my aas use enhances my health

I'm gonna have to stop my intra workout shake to see if that solves my issues

Feel sick towards end of session and all the way home and for a good hour after.

Sneeze all the time after I train....every time. By the time I've left gym and gone home I do a massive sneeze....can't just be a coincidence can it..

I've used them for ages and sometimes I'm fine but it's like 80% off the time now it's happening.

Sick of it tbh...I can't enjoy a training session cos I feel crappy

Did you not read The article? It clearly states anything and everything . If so then what's with the just protien and fats???? Carbs are the body primary choice of fuel , carbs spare protien and blunt cortisol . If you are trying to lose no need to attend to " GI pre workout OR added fats lower the GI . Which is also clearly indicated in 100s of articles regarding glycemic index. I hear your concern but you are obsessing over minute details that are moot in the scheme of things . Furthermore just have the courage to try it and see what happens . That's how you learn or on a sense teach yourself . No expert no trainer no book will teach better than oneself . Know thyself ! By the way homonuclrus- great article as I read and absorbed . To me what you write is common sense as you emphasized getting nutrients but also stated that we all should experiment . Therefore to the unclear people - know yourself . In every area of BB I too train others as part time career - my main advice is always stop relying on what you hear from others . You are your best teacher . Listen to your body .
 
The sick issue I guess is the main thing - for while pay attention to every thing you ingest including all meds or pills 4-6 hour prior . Consider any health issues that exist , including sleep fatigue. The drink may Im fact trigger nausea, but you may have a gastric problem that you aren't considering . Take prebiotic supps and enzymes for support in general . I healed my bleeding ulcer from meds with prebiotic sand enzymes , got off all prescription meds my pcp. Was amazed . See! I'm a firm believer that bodybuilding is not get freaky at all costs, to me bodybuilding is total health. My body grows larger and leaner not just cuz I assimilate and maintain nitrogen through protien and aas etc but because my body works as a system . I feel aas and hgh enhance my health , why at 50 I'm more leaner stronger and athletic and oh of course incedibly handsome lol . We need our nervous system to help recover and digestive system to process all our foods that fuel out minds moods and bodies. People over look that when trying to get huge and ripped. Bodybuilding heals trust me. Most people will try but no one not even handsome ketsugo genius will have the answer . We all need to communicate with ourselves , rely on our body to tell us through pain and discomfort and us deciphering . You are the genius to ask always remember that
