Filtered oil same as sterile?

Is this filtered oil the same thing as sterile? As in ready for injecting… To cut something that’s causing pain.

Yep I have the same one and use it to cut painful or high dosed gear and it works really well.

Thanks. I believe I ordered from them years ago for sterile oil but it was the filtered word throwing me off.

Would depend on the size of the pours in the filter as to how contaminant free things are. Didn't see any mention of that right off.

I brew. I understand this though. But if you are going to filter it yourself no need to spend the extra on prefiltered. I use a bottle top with .22um, small pores, and of course the BA does most of the work. I do follow a rule, after making a new batch, not to use it for 3 days allowing the benzol alcohol to do its job.

Practically speaking the filter really only needs to be 0.45. Technically there are very small bacteria that can get through, but we didn't even know those existed until like 1990, and always made all of our sterile pharmaceuticals with 0.45 before that. And actually, technically, even 0.22 isn't fine enough to get every bacteria known to man.

I would say filtered is not the same as sterile? If you filter it then most bacteria etc is filtered out, but once you open it you push things from outside in, the more you open it the more comes in and can start ‘growing’. What keeps it sterile is the alcohol. That’s why with injection water for example it always say for one time use only. Same with needles, syringes etc. Once opened/used there is no guarantee anymore.

Then the practical part. If you homebrew for example and you work as clean as possible (there is no cleanroom), you filter, use the BA, then the chances of ‘dirty gear’ is so small.

I don’t know how clean the labs nowadays work, but like 15 years ago I discovered after using half a vial that there was a hair in the vial… and this was from a well respected UG lab back then here in the Netherlands.

You're better off buying a pressure cooker and exposing it to 100 heat and pressure, not 180 heat.

Many moons ago when I used to do this, I used to buy GSO from the super market (unsterile) and then use watman beaker filters, solvents then pressure cooker for 20-25mins. Never had an issue.

If it doesnt say sterile on the label I wouldnt take the chance. Id just grab a 0.22 syringe filter and run it through that into whatever vial is causing pip

It’s not really sterile. Unless it’s heated long enough.
