after 16 weeks I can now start training fully again. I have to start slow (pushups/pullups) and work up over time, but it is a huge step forward. Doc also wants me training 4 weeks and then resting a full week so that I can get full healing(we all should probably do this anyway).

I am super excited that I can finally do something. Watching my arms shrink to 17inches and shoulders shrink after 4 months of no training has sucked. Time to at least get some glycogen back in em!!
 
nice bro. Im sure you are menatlly hungry to start hitting it.
 
Feels good I bet...I'm coming off 9month rehab for a torn Achilles. The worst injury I've ever experienced.

Takes so freaking long to get back..

I would do super light weight with short breaks in between sets do sets of around 25 to 30 reps just for the first week or 2 you will get sore as hell from this but a good way to warm the joints up and easing back into it. I was out for appendix removal was out for 8 weeks and I started back this is how I did I felt like a weenie but when I went back into the heavy weights after a few weeks felt great.

Ya.. very high reps and no bar benching for a while. Doc said no dips either. I was able to do pushups, pull ups and light shoulders with 12pound dumbells. Its my elbows that hurt today though lol. Gonna take some time but arms n chest feel a tad tighter already
 
Listen to the doc bro. I've had both done and followed orders so I wouldn't have to go under the knife again. They're experts, I'M NOT!

operation dec 16 . around when you had yours. ive been back in the gym for 3 weeks doing upper. finally did some incline this week. flat bench dumbells were too painful. but the incline was enough to get things moving.
My shoulder has been hurting for three days but I haven't been doing anything different. my friend said we will have pain for nine months at least. I def warm up with the rubber bands before any lifting.
I left PT a month ago after they started the muscle building with rubber bands and light balls. I couldn't afford 70 dollars a visit. i'll tell you what got me some good range of motion was the frikkin cold weather going away!!! I went for a walk the other day when it finally broke 70 and swung my arms and stretched in the warm sun and it felt awesome.

It feels great... im sticking to pushups til I can do 25 reps 3 times and pullups till I get 3 sets of 10... going very slow... not doing this again
 
Good luck on your recovery, just take it nice and slow, I had knee surgery (meniscus tear) last year and never took it easy, I went back to work a few days after and didn't go to therapy, and you will never guess who is going to therapy right now to break up scar tissue, and were hoping I don't have to have it scoped again to clean things up. :(

Just had that and my right Biceps re-attached all in the same surgery, so I feel ya bro. Did 20lb D-bell presses the other day for 3 sets of 20 and about died the next day....lol. But then again I'm only 12 wks out. Good Luck
 
I'm scheduled for my labrum repair in less than a month. I've already been through the rotator cuff repair so I definitely feel your pain. It's a long and painful recovery but just take it slow and steady and you'll be fine. Did ya use any Hgh therapy?
 
Just had my 3rd shoulder surgery in 14 years. so they just did my left again. Scoped it so been back in the gym 2 weeks now. It's only a 3-4 week down time nothing compared to the serious surgery some of you guys had.

What I can tell you is remember all the things your PT taught you. Don't worry about your pec muscles...so to say... Worry about your rotator cuff and doing those exercises. My PT who's my good friend has me doing these wacky ass exercises but holy crap they work. It's none of those silly rotator warm up exercises most guys do in the gym before they bench which turn out to be a total waste. I do this one thing with 5lb dumbells I can't even explain. I'll try to see if I can find an example online. It's awesome.

Roll on a ball on your upper back...rotator etc...I used a Tball and man it opens me up nice. Stretch with a broomstick over your head or those bands they have at PT..go behind your head and back over to the front. Those really help.

Also my elbows hurt too. The down time fucks you up. My body can't handle downtime and always likes to be moving. Curls bother me too it feels like a hard bar is stuck in my bicep which means I still need to work on my neck and rotator as something is out of wack.

Go see an ART chiropractor to help you through it mine has worked wonders during this time.

Being in was only scoped and this is my 3rd time the best thing I ever did this time was take off the sling after only 2 days and start moving around. I left it on way too long the last 2 times out of fear that I needed too.

welcome back. take it super slow and make sure to really warm up the shoulders everytime now. I used to pitch and screwed mine up. ITS NEVER BEEN THE SAME!.
