First day back....

Last night was my first night back to the gym in almost a year. I was involved in a motorcycle accident in which I hit some gravel in a turn(riding my ducati 848) and went into a concrete ditch. Funny thing is I hit had to slide into the only ditch on this particular stretch of road......(thinking murphys law applies here). Spleen/kidney were almost had to be removed; if I rememver correctly they said they both were a class three laceration. I also had a broken femur.

Anyways, my point is that I am so happy to be back in the gym. Im sore as a mofo....lol And weak as hell lmao

I remember about 5 years ago I was coming back into the gym after a MC crash. I was so excited and it was an incredable feeling after being out for just over a year and putting on unwanted body fat. I am sure you feel the same way. Congrats your gains will be awesome!

Just funnin with ya bro. Glad to see your back. Train smart, be honest with ur doc concerning any supplemenataion you use and give your spleen n kidneys a chance to heal well.

Laid a 60 ft patch on my Harley going 75 mph when some asshole cut me off then hit his brakes. Didn't have to change my underwear though...commando :D

Just take it easy Bro, you don't want to over do it and end up having a set back. Been there done that:(
 
Good Luck Bro! A few years back I tried skiing. Partially tore a ligament in my knee that took forever to heal. A few months without squats and I realized that I really missed them. How crazy is that?
 
why did you take a year off? I know once you start taking time off, its easy to keep taking time off and really hard to get back in the grove.

My buddy got side swiped on his bike by a escalade... lost his leg up to his upper thigh, tore his right pec, and tore his rotator cuff... was training with us 7 months later with a prostetic leg and we would strap him down to bench soo he wouldnt roll off.... before accident about 5'8 and 260...he has lost a good deal, but not sure how to take a lost leg into the weight calculation. has a really cool carbon fiber leg though, that learns his body movement and plugs into a computer to learn, granted I am sure he doesn't think its cool. But he is a good buddy and besides my wife was by my surgery bed when I was going under...as the surgery they were doing was experimental and both of them were on edge the first time the doctor was saying "move your foot, wiggle your toe"

I was in the gym 6 weeks after my surgery....6 inch rod, drilled 3 verebre, fused 2 disc, and 5 screws total (but yes I am a moron)

my point being...I am sure once you got into the cycle of not going, and shrinking it was easy to keep not going. So while your first day back may suck and may discourage you...Don't let it. this is my friendly kick in the butt, slap on the back...saying, dont let yourself take anymore time off...keep going and dont get frustrated.
