Heres my main question without having to read the rest... when i try to increase my protein intake from what its at, its butt-pee all day long. bad. ive tried eating peanut butter all day, but i feel like im putting on body fat like im eating mayo out of the jar. i have flaxseed oil and take it with shakes on occasion but notice little or no difference. any suggestions? right now its kinda mellowed out abit, but ive cut down my protein. i still shit about 4-5 times a day, but atleast its not liquid. also, ive seen suggestions of metamucil in diet plans. can someone tell me what it will help? thanks for the help.




hi! im new to the site, beginner, and looking for whatever advice i can get. ive been lifting on and off for about 3 years(just turned 25), and recently started the mon-wed-fri routine from Big A's write up. the last time(little over a year ago) i was heavy into lifting i was skinny as hell at 155, 5' 9" at age 23. i was shitting around 6 times a day immediately following each meal and was giving up. basically had little or no fat or carbs in my diet and got nowhere.

so i stopped for awhile after having my son and drank beer and ate what i wanted. went up to 175 but not much muscle and was weak whenever i did make it over to the gym. about a month ago i found this site, and a little determination and have been following Big A's routine. i started trying the 500g protein thing and my asshole couldnt take it anymore. i cut down to a 40 gram shake with each meal about 6 times a day. went up to 200lbs, much less body fat, and my shoulders got too big for the medium shirts i was wearing to work. had to buy larges. i look almost the same size with little lesss fat, but 25lbs heavier. my incline press went up from a shitty 80lbs to 215lbs, flys from around 50lbs to 135lbs, bentover dumbell rows from around 30lbs to 75lbs. much improvement for a month i think.

so i was hoping to get some advice or input on my diet or supplements, as i dont want to get into "gear" right now, and am just looking for ways to improve what is already working.
i get up around 5, take 4000mg of arginine, 3 anavol, 1 multivitamen, 30 minutes later eat 3 whole eggs, 3 eggwhites and 40 gram shake with tsp of glutamine. 2-3 hrs later have a myoplex rtd, 2-3 hrs later eat again(chicken sandwich, tuna, rice w/chicken) and 40g shake w/tsp glutamine. again with the same arginine, anavol and vitamin, plus a 25 mg DHEA. same rotation of meals w/shake, and myoplex rtd(43g protein) every 3 hours until i go to bed. on average about 6 meals a day including the myoplex rtd's. i think its been working well, but if anyone see's any room for improvement im open to criticism.

Your shits are from the shakes. Are you lactose intolerant?

Also, rememeber, the supplement industry is not a regulated industry, so a lot of products don't contain what it says on the labels.

Try a pure whey isolate that is totally lactose free and see how you go. You should not have any stomach problems with that.

Your results for one month are phenomenal!
 
Thanks Big A. and thanks even more for the "growth principles for beginners" write up. it was the first thing i followed here and its been great. I appreciate the response. ive never had any lactose problems, ever. ive been taking the gnc brand 100% whey with the glutamine. i read Hutch's diet and saw he was using isopure mid-day. i might try that next. i was always told to add fat or carbs to balance out the large amounts of protein. i read an article in muscle fitness where a guy would wake up shitting from the shake before he went to bed. he said he added like 5 tbsp of natural peanut butter and it went away. i started doing that and it felt like iwas just getting fat. i may jst need to experiment a little with my diet. but for the first month on the routine im very happy. thanks again.

The ONLY reason why you would be getting shits from shakes is from the additives (listed or not listed on the labels). A pure whey protein will not give you any stomach problems. Use the Search button here and look up SynthePURE.
 
thanks. i read up on it and just ordered 2 tubs. my only concern is that it wont last too long. maybe a week or 2? is there anything i can get that doesnt taste as good or mix as well, but will still do the trick? this sounds like the best stuff, but i honestly dont think i can afford to keep ordering it with 2 kids. i did a search and read through a few other threads that the isopure was pretty bad tasting, but i guess its much better than what i have now? i can stomach a nasty shake as long as its working for me. any opinions? any other ones that stand right under the synthepure? i cant wait to get that stuff though. again, thanks for all the advice.

nevermind, i pretty much found what i was looking for in other threads. 1 last question on the sythepure. if its such greater quality that the stuff ive been taking, should it be much more potent? basically should 20g of synthepure have the same effect as 40g of gnc whey? (not exact, but that type of difference) if so, then the synthepure should last me just as long as the stuff im taking right now by taking smaller amounts, with the same effect, and no squirts. agreed? if im taking 40g of gnc whey with every meal, is it safe to say im only getting a fraction of that in protein, and the remainder in additives? thanks.

The amount/percentage of "protein" per weight for Synthpure is higher than about all protein out there. If your goal is to get 100g of protein from drinks, then it'll take less Synthepure than anything else.

Read the labels to see how much "actual" protein is in a serving. They usually don't provide this as a percentage but you can do the math. For example - if your protein is listed as a 20g serving and it contains 16g protein, that's 80% protein. I believe that Synthepure is in the high 90 percentile.

I DONT WANT TO STEEL THIS THREAD BUT I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT THIS PROTEIN (WPI). WHAT CAN YOU MIX IT WITH IF YOU ARE CARBING DOWN FOR NINE WEEKS, TAKING IN THE CONSIDERATION OF THE CARBS? ANY SUGGESTIONS BIG A OR XCEL?

thanks xcel! i never even looked at it before, but it says 31g contains 20g of protein. so more than a 3rd of it is the nestle quick taste thats making me crap. thanks again guys. now im just waiting for my 2 tubs of synthepure!

Anything you wish. You can cook with it, add it to your oats, add it to water, or add it to lactose free (no carbs) fat free milk.

So the one you are using has 20g of protein in 31g of powder (about 65%)
SynthePURE has 30g+ of protein in 31g of powder (96%+)
 
i looked and it said it contains cocoa, soybeans and milk. i guess thats the other 35%. its also mostly whey protein concentrate, with little whey protein isolate. anyway im done. thanks for answering all my questions and clearing that up for me. on to better things.
