I have had a few bad experiences with heating fish up at work. Has anyone figured out a way around this? Just eat it cold?

Bad experience how??
Personally I prefer it warm , if the smell is offensive to people then you could warm it somewhere else or just tell people to deal with it.
Pissy coworker:"your fish stinks , it makes me sick"
Me: "your cheap perfume stinks and your fatness makes me sick"
LOL it's offensive to everyone. I used to heat mine up at work and people would lose their minds.
Unfortunately in this PC world we haven't yet reached equality for fish-microwavers.

Agreed. It's a unwritten law.
You shouldn't.
However, yes, you can always do WTF you want as well. It's just not the ideal protein to heat up in a office environment.
I like my salmon cold anyhow on a salad the next day.
lol yes shit like this. Im so sick of hearing people bitch about my food choices. Its been going on for years. One year they almost evacuated a wing of the building due to heating up my salmon. The smell of fish makes people crazy. Has anyone used a smoker and then ate it cold. I remember being somewhere in Michigan and they were selling smoked salmon cold at gas stations and shit like that.
