Fish oil doses vary depending on the goal of supplementation. For general health, 250mg of combined EPA and DHA is the minimum dose and can be obtained via fish intake. If the goal of supplementation is to reduce soreness, a 6g dose, spread over the course a day, will be effective.

I take 2000mg but see a lot of people posting 4000mg; can someone explain the extra benefit from taking more? I just want to understand the science behind it.

I used to take more than what I do now. I honestly need to grab a good fish oil supp again.

I generally rotate between a couple multi-vitamins and VPX Medivin has some added EPA/DHA in it, which is a nice perk.

seeing all these posts of 2000mg+ makes me wonder if i should increase?

I don't exceed 4 grams a day on script lovaza. Recently read some old articles by polquin a few months ago and was trying to cycle up to 20 grams a day, I didn't make it past 10, I got some really bad headaches, and seemed to effect blood pressure and pulse. I was taking Carlson's liquid.

I go to a hematologist for secondary poycythemia from TRT and sleep apnea (treated) and he really LAID MY ASS out.

He told me at 5 grams a day you are pushing it to very thin levels of blood, and at 10 grams you are at risk for a stroke or hematoma as the thin blood will leak from the blood vessels.

Scared the shit out of me.
