I have been eating eggs for breakfast with a piece of 15 grain toast with almond butter on it. I train 45 minutes later then have a protein shake right after. Then about 3 hours after I have about 8-12ounce of tilapia and maybe some brown rice depending on my day. 3 hours later another shake. 3 hours later 6-10 ounces of boneless/skinless chicken breast and maybe some broccoli.

This has been my diet for 12 weeks now. In that 12 weeks I have lost over 40lbs. While putting an inch and a half on my arms.

I keep reading how food is the most anabolic thing you can put in your system. Would it be better to swap that second shake with fish or chicken totaling the same amount of protein?

I am sure this is a newb question but I am needing a change after 12 weeks I am needing a change.
 
To answer your question, yes...whole foods over shakes any day.

However, what are you trying to accomplish? Gaining muscle size...dieting down further....maintenance?

I would like to keep dropping fat while gaining or maintaining what muscle I have.
 
I check my fat weekly with one of those hand held devices I am at 20.1%

When I started all of this I was MUCH higher. I have lost a lot. I almost died last year and in the healing being bed ridden I gained a lot of weight and fat. I mean I have always been a big guy but never this big. So when I started my goal was 15% bf. My goal now is to hit that 15% and re evaluate from there
 
I would swap tilapia with salmon or shellfish.. Swap second protein shake with grass fed beef.. But thats just for starters..:D

I have grass fed bison and beef in my freezer. I know its supposed to be better for you but I am thinking that what I got isnt very lean. Lots of grease.

Salmon I do from time to time. As well as flounder. But tilapia comes in bags and is easiest to prep.
