The ones you can get from target / walmart will work fine. I start out by using a scale then I see how much food I weighed out fits into a measuring cup. I prefer the using a measuring cup because its less hassle especially when preparing 6 + meals at a time.
Just me 0.02$
I got this one. I like it cause I can just put my plate on it, tare it, put the food right on the plate, and weigh it. Now I don't have to keep cleaning the scale.

I know I saw a link somewhere on digital food scales but can't find it. For those who do use them, any recommendations? Or should I just pick one up from Target or something? Any help would be appreciated.
If you have a Ross in your town (yes I know the clothing store) they sometimes have some good stuff within their kitchen accessories. They had a really good food scale that I should of bought, digital, flat glass tray....similar to the above image, for 16 bucks. As a matter fact I am going to run down there now and see if it is still there.
Wow, that is cheap. I think I paid about $25 at Meijer grocery store.
I don't think it was the same model as the one in the picture but it looked similar. What attracted me was the large glass surface, I figured that would be much easier to lay food on then the bucket scale that I use now. I knew I should of bought the thing. You never know what they have at Ross and nothing is uniform. They sell whatever they get a hold of.
Mine is just like Krom's but from Target 30 bucks it is a Taylor. It is so easy to use.
