i was just wondering if any of your doctors recommend an aspirin regimen?

thanx

Not mine. We've never even discussed it. I'm 43, in good shape with good blood work.

Not here either, blood work is always good. I take a baby asprin before bed anyway, but just preventative. Never even discussed with a dr.

interesting...

i wonder what they would say if you asked. i actually went to the docs today and had a new doc which i knew and told him about the fda changing their position on aspirin. he just looked at me weird and then i was like ok well im thinking of getting off. he asked why i was on it i said rosacea which is true. he said thats fine. then i asked is there any rebound effect and he was a lil unsure and said to take one everyother day for two weeks then every third day. im still undecided ive been taking it for 10 years.

What's their new position?

Haven't seen very much. Hoping to decrease hematrocrit with the asa?

Going for anything else?

I am not a doctor but I play one on TV. The blanket age is 45 for men and 55 for women. If you have experience with T I would recommend it if in your 40's and /or have a discussion with Dr.

None here either.

52, on TRT. Doc's got me on a baby aspirin, but to lessen flush effect of the Niaspan (time release niacin) I take at night. I still wake up red

My doctor has me take a regular aspirin once a day to help keep my blood thin.

Problem with aspirin is with some people, it can cause internal bleeding. If you are doing everything right it is unnecessary. With the newer cholesterol test called vpt(has fractional components of cholesterol), Lpa component is affected positively by aspirin. Lpa is the so-called "heart attack cholesterol". If your Lpa is still high after doing all you can, it is a good idea to take ASA. On a side note, the niaspan will help this a little, but regular niacin works better to lower this component, and raises HDL(good cholesterol).

Also, there is a greater margin of safety with regular niacin than time released. Initially you will flush more with regular niacin, but after 2 weeks you won't flush anymore or very little. That doesn't seem to be true w/ time released. I personally just feel itchy longer with the time-released.

One final note: If regular niacin is taken 45 min after a meal and you do not eat for 2 hours, it does increase natural hgh levels. Regular and time-released niacin both should only be taken under a dr. 's care. Overdose can occur.

Not mine. My TRT doc is a Naturopath... an N.D.

49 on TRT and my doc recommends it. However, my bp was high prior to TRT and water retention due to the test cyp makes it slightly higher.
