For those that had surgery on injection scar tissue/lump, did you find it worth it?

I have permanent scar tissue / lumps sitting in my delts and quads for years (from being stupid with injection routine 10 years ago).

And been considering getting surgeries to remove them. (already been to PT and Sport Med docs, and I was told they're calcified and suggested to see ortho surgeons for treatment).

However, I'm not sure if I really want to afford 4-5 figures and potential long recovery time on it.

For those that needed surgical procedures on it, did you find it worth it? Or do you regret it?

How did you convince your doctor/insurance that it is medically necessary and not just for cosmetic purpose? (I think I do have functional issue with flu shot and pressure but not 100% sure if it qualifies under medical/insurance lens)

sorry to hijack your topic but how did this develop and what can we do to make sure it doesnt happen or minimize it? rotating injection sites, using smaller gauge needles, perhaps not injecting too big volumes at once comes to mind. Perhaps getting sports massages frequently, foam rolling and so on?

A little embarrassed to admit but I think it was a combination of shallow + frequent injection at the time, also occasional large volume in delts.

I thought I was fine rotating 6 spots (delts/quads/glutes) and went smooth every time, but by the time I noticed the lumps it was already too late. Somehow my most used site glutes are fine.

Let’s see a few of the lumps and I’m sure you’ll get many opinions on what folks would do in your shoes.

I have had 5 calcified things cut out. I went to a plastic surgeon for it as they leave the best scar. But the plastic surgeon was a main hospitals plastic surgeon.
Id like to get more removed but that arm is tattooed so it's no big deal.
It was worth it to me, especially in delts/chest.
Recovery was a breeze. Just didn't lift for 3 weeks because of inner stitches.
It feels like nothing to heal.

High bf currently so hard to take a clear pic. the lumps are about same size in the other 3 spots. At lower bf it becomes really obvious even without weird angle like this, that the lump is sitting on the separation that would've shown.

Were you able to inject on those sites again (I don't plan to use them for AAS anymore but just curious)? Or were they covered with scarring once you have the mass removed? One of the sport med doc seems to implied this as possible outcome when I asked him about it.

And if you don't mind sharing, how much did you spend on each operation?

They took out the main lump but little ones as well.
And idk, I stopped doing delts awhile ago..
There are no lumps so idk i should be able to as it's just normal tissue.

You tell them you’re in pain. That it’s causing trouble with sleep and daily activities.

Mine looked similar.
I was worried about dents but your shoulder will look normal but with a scar.

I may not be seeing it correctly but it seems like a halved golf ball?

Has anyone tried kenalog injections? I've heard it can work but it can also eat too much tissue if not done correctly and leave a hole in there.

I've got a coin sized lump thing on my delt. I'm guessing it's from that one time I tried to use 400mg/ml test. Seems to be right under the skin but stuck to delt fibers. Gonna get it cut out by a plastic surgeon hopefully in the next few weeks. I wouldn't let a regular surgeon touch me.

I'm expecting to be back in the gym the same week doing legs and upper body after 2 weeks. Gonna throw the full recovery stack at it. GH+tb-500+bpc-157+ghk-cu + staying on gear of course. That's how I bounced back super quick from my previous surgeries which were way more invasive.

How deep and big were your lumps? Were they inside the muscle? Were they all from jabs or something else? How do you get that many lumps

I'm pretty sure there are different machines that use something like sound waves to break up calcific tissue. I can't remember the name of it at the moment.

One I had removed by a plastic surgeon, simple easy local procedure, was deeper than the surgeon thought.

The other one I was able to break down with extremely aggressive massage.
