I'm diabetic and am having problems with fountain sodas off and on. It seems that sometimes those labeled diet aren't. I can't taste the difference but notice the bump in blood sugar:( Upon researching, it appears to be a fairly widespread problem. It seems that if they run out and don't have any diet, a lot of places just hook up what they have. If your on a hardcore diet beware. It is possible, I'm told to test it with urine glucose strips. They are cheap and I'm going to look into it further....

yeah you could probably slap some kind of a lawsuit on em for that shit. that could be freakin dangerous with bein diabetic. be careful with that in the future. i've also noticed a lot of pies and shit at wal-mart that said sugar free on the front, but on the ingredients label it said it contained sugar.

lol i wasnt eatin them, but my grandfather is diabetic and was wanting one. kinda pissed me off when i seen that it contained sugar. i dont eat pies i just grab a jar of peanut butter and dump m and m's in there and eat it with a spoon :D grab that and a huge glass of milk and you're good to go.

hmmm

just curious why are you drinking diet drinks and not water.alot of diet drinks contain aspartame which turns into formaldahyde at 86%.i'm sure those container have sat in a wharehouse at 86% or higher.diabetis is very easily kept under control with diet and exercise.

I always wondered about this , then about a year ago I was on a cheat day at a franchised sub shop and got a DIET fountain drink..about an hour later I was bouncing off the walls cuz of the sugar ( I aviod sugar as if it were AIDS) since then I stick with water when out and now the only diet soda I drink is DIET RITE it has nothing in it 0 sodium 0 cals 0 sugar 0 caffeine.

People think Im paraniod but do you think someone making under 10 bucks an hour at a resturant could give a shit if it is diet or not
??

About 2 weeks ago at 7/11 I was getting a Big Gulp of Diet Cherry Coke and wondered how many 7/11 employees have said "fuck those dieting assholes" and hooked up regular instead. I don't drink too many diet fountain drinks after I worked at several restaurants and saw how moldy and corroded most of the lines that the soda actually flows through get.

Now I know what fountain soda always tastes better than canned/bottled soda.

Yeah, I know I shouldn't drink the stuff at all. I've had a lifelong addiction to soda. Before I was confirmed diabetic, but had it, I'd suck down 3-4 liters of sugar stuff a day. I have cut back, but don't know if I'll ever be able to quite completely. To me, drinking a liter while working out has been the way I've done it since I first hit a weight. Even hiding soda in a dark water bottle when the grappling instructor insisted I refrain from drinking it.....

yeah

i do understand, sugar to a diabetic is like heroin to a junkie.sugar is a drug and should be classified one according to fda guildlines and definition of a drug.i was just curious if it was the craving that was to hard to overcome.

Yeah, It's definitely a craving, an addiction. I think it is further complicated by the fact I don't like tea or coffee, so use it as a caffeine source as well. I have cut back, but it seems to go in cycles....
